Brilliant food, friendly staff and atmosphere
Yes , tad out of the way but worth it.
Starters and mains were amazing. (Apologies I didn’t get chance to take photos this time)
Starters were the mixed grill which consisted of chicken tikka, seekh and shami kebabs, samosas and onion Bhajis with 3 sauces! 20 out of 10 That good I was guilty of filling up on them before the mains.
For the curry there was choice of naan, white or brown basmati rice. I went for the brown. Not over cooked, not dry - but perfect
Curries : there were choice of 4 on our table or maybe 5? Lost track but deffo was chicken karhai, chicken tikka masala, lamb bhuna? And two more chicken dishes which I too engrossed in eating I didn’t ask.. maybe butter chicken curry? The variety is great.
NO DISH WAS DROWNIN IN OIL ! They were all piping hot and cooked to perfection. I love lamb and will notice if it’s not done right / cheap meat being used but not the case here!! It was cooked to perfection. Every dish had the right level of spice so you can enjoy it without worrying if you’re going to burn your mouth out!
Highly recommend this place!!
Very friendly staff who keep coming around to check if there’s any issues or if for example a friend knocks over a glass or something they are surrounding you to clean it up quick and fuss over you in a nice way - making sure you are ok and are sorted.
Will deffo be coming here again when back in these parts!
Thanks for the wonderful food, time and...
Read more(20+ Indian restaurant reviews) On the 25/03/2022 me and 2 other work friends visited Syhiba restaurant from Shipley. Booking was straight forward and even with short notice fitted us in no problem. This came as no surprise at all once we saw the scale of the place, it spanned 2 huge floors capable of seating at least 100 people. The décor is great, modern and fresh. We ended up sitting upstairs in the far corner out of the way, and felt like we had plenty of room. No alcohol served (bring your own, which is not uncommon.) But do not accept card which is the first I have visited to do that, cash only.
The 2 Paneer Tikka starters were good no complaints but nothing special. The Chicken Pakoras seemed dry. The mains however left a bit to be desired, It wasn't bad but not good either, It was very oily and even though we asked for madras hot, specifically saying we are pretty used to spice, it was bland and had next to no heat whatsoever. The sides of Naans and chips where both very generous and had no complaints with them!
Price was very reasonable but I probably would say I wouldn't return. Just because I think with the amount of people served quality has suffered slightly.
Thank-you for...
Read moreRecently visited after the renovation and was excited to go as we haven't been in a while. Unfortunately it really wasn't up to their usual standards, specifically asked for 2 very mild curries, both came out extremely spicy and I couldn't eat mine. It was changed but all my friends had then eaten theirs and the sides were then cold, so just very disappointed.
The service was not good, felt like some waiters were being very rude, slamming cutlery down, no smile, had to keep asking for things like forks, napkins. One guy came out in what looked like a chef outfit and was being so rude to people, slamming things around, really wasn't good. My friend was served their main and was not warned that the bowl was very hot, they picked it up and burnt their hand but the staff didn't care.
When we paid we was asked how our evening was and we just advised not good, but no further questions were asked.
I think because we went late on a Saturday night, they maybe assume everyone's drunk and possibly don't treat customers the same, we definitely weren't drunk and expect the same service no matter what time you visit.
Unfortunately will not be returning and there's much better Indians in the area...
