Disappointing: decided to try Beehive for an evening meal haven’t been in a long time. On arrival we were greeted with friendly reception and shown directly to our table after a few minutes. Member of staff came and offered us drinks and shortly after came to take our order. My wife ordered the meat lasagna described as Merlot with pancetta lasagna I went on the recommendation of the beef, bacon and brie burger with chilli jam. The meals arrived within reasonable time. My wife’s lasagna was smaller than you would expect. But considering it’s described as merlot and pancetta it was very bland. As for my burger. Burger bun was stale and side salad was limp with soft cherry tomatoes but the burger came with no chilli jam or bacon. The waitress was very apologetic and exchanged it straightaway informing me that a fresh one would take approximately 10 minutes. Unfortunately, when It arrived the bacon had been overcooked on the char grill and as for the chilli jam, there was no taste whatsoever. Whole experience very disappointing and I think for the price they’re charging they need to look at the quality of the ingredients using plus how they are...
Read moreA recent visit here for midweek tea . Lots of good reviews and so we looked forward to trying this pub. Ample parking and a dog friendly pub, which was a bonus. Wheelchair access would be possible. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Sadly the atmosphere was somewhat flat due to lack of people in the pub. A variety of foods to choose from on the menu suitable for both meat eaters and vegetarians. We ordered 3 bean burger and vegetable lasagne. Both came with approx 8 large cut chips and a small portion of salad. The bun of the burger was big. 5he burger had a somewhat average taste. The lasagne base tasted strongly of tomatoes and nothing else. Chips were average tasting too and on the soggy side. I would definitely recommend ordering a 2 or 3 course meal if having the lasagne as main as this meal alone was not filling. The lasagne portion was much smaller than I have experienced anywhere else. Perhaps at the weekend the atmosphere is more vibrant. Reasonably priced with a large amount of alcoholic choices. Overall not a bad place perhaps just an off day in the kitchen? On a positive note, service was...
Read moreRevisited this pub after calling in for a drink a few months ago. The new owner Steve is very friendly and loves kids and dogs to visit his new venture. Menu choices are varied, we had the Tandoori chicken on a flatbread with homemade chips and tzatziki and coriander dip, also something I've not seen on any menu before Steak and Oxtail pie, creamy mash, broccoli and mange tout, with a jug of gravy. Both dishes were excellent, the pie is amazing, also separate Tapas menu which seemed very popular with other diners, something we will have to try next time. However we had to wait over 50 mins for our food, and I had to chase it up when I went to the bar for more drinks, when the food arrived it was a bit cold , probably been waiting for the food servers to bring out, as the gravy had a skin on Perhaps you could get more staff Steve at busy times (weekends) but it did not spoil the evening we will return to review your Tapas menu, recommend booking at weekends, got very busy, 2 car...
