Arrived at reserved table. Clean and ready. Cutlery and condiments insufficient quantity for people booked. Once sat ordered through the app. Didn’t apply correct offers but it was only around £3-£4 so didn’t worry. Drinks came 3/4 full flat and without ice - I took a couple of drinks back to be told the machine isn’t working. Would have been nice to be informed when served. Starters good however arrived at table at room temperature. My chicken strips were very greasy, ‘oily’. Chips not bad though. One of my Daughters chicken burgers supposed to come smothered in BBQ sauce - completely missing. Other Daughters chips cold. Wife’s drink was, and I quote ‘rank’. Both ‘Candy manias’ served half full with tons of whipped cream in an attempt to fill the void of space in the glass. Joke for £7 to be honest. Ice cream tasted cheap also, shame because it used to be a gorgeous but formidable desert! Really disappointed. One gentleman apologised for the food coming out so staggered but no one asked if food was all okay. Needs a change to recapture it’s forma glory. To Tom and the management team we didn’t leave with smiles on our faces as per the poster near our table. I tried to speak to someone but no one came available. Sorry it’s long but it’s an honest review.

Sizzling Pub Wanted to continue my Cambridge pub reviews therefore I entered this pub. What a big menu, from pub classics to comfort food. Took us a while to make decisions. The food we ordered was prepared well, generous portions with very reasonable prices. We enjoyed everything, from the rump steak to the salmon to the sides. The chips were still hot. The salad was a mix of different vegetables and raw onion. It has breakfast menu too. I wonder if it's available all day? Or just morning only? It looks interesting too. Attracted by the champion cup ice cream dessert too. Would that be as massive as the Robin Hood (other Cambridge pub)one? The staff were working hard to clean the environment. Unfortunately found that the seats are still dirty. Had to line some tissues or a tote bag before sitting. I will come back to try other things on the menu. See you soon!

Sometimes you don't need or want the best good you've ever tasted. Sometimes you just wanna know what to expect and to walk away feeling full and satisfied. This place does that for you. Price is very reasonable and you don't feel at all overcharged. Service was lovely and the atmosphere is quite nice with the little tucked away seating area and 'zoned' layout. The only reason I've taken a star away is that the egg yolks are solid. Between my parter and I, all three eggs were solid. A runny yolk is just synonymous with a quality breakfast. There was also a fair bit of grease left on the plate, which isn't a big deal, but maybe just rest the different elements on some kitchen towel or something before plating. We've been before and we'll definitely be back.

We should have known entering an empty car park on a sunny Sunday afternoon.

Upon entering the dining area we were confronted by most of the tables needing to be cleared or cleaned. It was so cold despite the sun outside. The only table not sat in front of open patio doors and that was clean was a table seated for 2. We are a family of 3. We made it work.

My partner went to order food and drink and was gone over 20 mins todo so. What I wanted was not available so chose a cheese and bacon burger and cheesy chips.

Food came reasonably quickly but I could see why straight away.

A handful of chips on a plate and a plain cheese burger for both myself and my son when we had ordered the same… these were taken back to the kitchen by the waiter who was a person of very few words.

A tiny peice of bacon was added to the burger and it appeared to be black too - not black from being cooked. I was dubious as to whether it was off or had been on the floor. A small handful of cheese thrown on the top of the chips. The plate had been put under a grill to melt the cheese but the plate being burning hot was not relayed to me when I went to take the plate from the waiter! Despite my son’s plate being burning hot too. This warning should have been told.

I ate the chips then tried the burger. The cheapest burger possible which was more gristle than meat. I left more than half of it. It was awful. How a burger and chips could be disappointing in a pub is beyond me. But it was terrible.

My husband had ordered a tandoori chicken affair which smelt delicious and was still sizzling on arrival. However the fragrant coriander salad was a handful of supermarket mixed salad that looked dry where it had been left out ages and no mango chutney or other dips on the tray. The wrap had been torn into two to make it look more.

I took this opportunity to go complain at the bar. The man I spoke to was very apologetic and the condiments did follow fairly quickly without a word from the waiter.

The table next to us was filthy and a family entering had no choice but to sit there and once they got their drinks ended up taking them back as the glasses were dirty.

The whole place looks very run down and the whole place is really quite dirty and could do with a deep clean.

Such a disappointing pit stop on a beautiful day.

Certainly won’t be returning to this pub.

Such a shame as it could be a lovely pub if the food had been better quality, the waiter welcoming and the whole place having a deep clean. I do feel an extra member of staff front of house would be beneficial to clear and clean vacated tables. Perhaps the woman behind the bar making her self look busy without doing much could have been clearing tables instead!

Sorry I cannot...

Seems to have gone massively downhill since the old manager Chris and his wife left. Placing a food order is a slow and painful process and waiting for it at my dirty, sticky table was even longer. I ordered 3 deluxe burger meals for my family based on the wonderful picture and description on the menu. What arrived was thoroughly depressing and pale looking. We all instantly noticed a big gap on our plates where no salad/coleslaw had been provided. I went up and asked the waitress as she bolted out of the kitchen and she said "Yeah, we've run out of that". I was gobsmacked that they thought it was OK to charge me full price for my meals but provide incomplete servings with no explanation or apology. It was almost like they just hoped we wouldn't notice what was missing. Annoyingly, my daughter wanted cheese on top of her chips which wasn't included in the meal... They didn't forget to charge me for that though! This isn't the first time I've had a bad experience here in recent months and it's clearly in need of a change of hands to put the focus back onto service. I've used the Milton Arms for years but there are much better places to eat and drink a few hundred yards in each direction so I won't waste my time or money...
