Update on 06/09/2025: After reading the answer received from the venue, I feel the need of standing up for myself and reply to it, and I cannot find a way to reply directly in their message.
Unfortunately, I wouldn't change a word of my previous review.
I don´t think you really had a look at the cameras, otherwise you would have reflected on what happened. I wasn´t insistent, or asked to pay just £3, I just mentioned on a little chat what I felt about the ice. I never said I did not want to pay for it. What I am still in shock about is the fact that the staff attending me asked me to leave as (and I quote again) ´you are ruining my day´. I was shocked, and took me a few seconds to react and rephase what I had said as I was not understanding what was happening. I just popped in quickly to get a take away coffee and carry on with my sunny and happy morning walk, and I was kicked out of a small place with at least 3-4 staff members and another 3-4 clients, just because I shared what crosses most people's minds, coffee prices on these days are over the roof everywhere!.
So let me tell you something, it ended up ruining my day, my week, and my month thinking I'm a horrible person who ruins people´s lives as soon as she talks
And I am sorry to insist (this time) The answer received by the member of staff was simply unproportionate! I normally work hard to avoid having that kind of impact on people's' lives, as I know how bad it feels. And definitive, it wasn´t my intention. So I do apologise if it was felt like that.
All the best
..... It's not the first time I have ordered coffee at this place. The previous staff was very kind, always. Today I was served by the manager/owner/senior staff member who is normally in the kitchen, and now I know the reason. He was very rude to me. As I politely mentioned charging £0.8 for a couple of blended ice cubes to add to a cortado felt a bit overpriced, he asked me to leave as I was 'ruining his day'. It's a shame customers are not heard and are kicked out of this place. It felt very embarrassing
P.D. I have seen exactly the same cakes waiting to be bought for more than a...
Read morei have been trying to get an order from cafe 121 but all the time that i place it they accepted and after a few seconds they cancel it, if you are too busy turn of UberEat it because this is very annoying to be charged multiple times and only get the refund in the next couple of days. very poor!
Both me and my friend were trying to order together, she got a call saying that they won't do 'business' with her anymore because asked for a refund last thursday and received the food. she asked for a refund due to a food safety issue, she found hair on her food and consequently complained on the app as we are instructed to do and threw away her food. why should she not get a refund when she finds hair from strangers in her food? disgusting. This is not about getting free food, she has spent hundreds at your store and she would be happy to continue to order everyday as usual, this just reflects how poor your customer service is. you don't even pick up your own shops phone number.
attached is a screenshot of my friends complaint on...
Read moreTiny portions of fake English fayre; the food is overpriced, the english breakfast as they caught it is tiny. You get the slice of tomato, and it's overpriced. They also seemed to believe they only footpath to access ALL the fronts of ALL the shops. They have even removed the pavement and put bollards obstructing the footpath that has been there a great many years. People believe they can come to this country and mug us off by selling us our supposed national dishes at exorbitant prices?? Do you really think we're all stupid? You serve a tiny "english" breakfast with a tiny slice of tomato. I don't think people quite understand; if I as an englishman, went to china and opened up a noodle bar, but serve them an english Pot Noodle, would that be acceptable? Why are we so mugged off in this country?? With one tomato, you'll make 5 of their breakfasts, so save your money.. don't make robber's rich, and give cambridge city council and all cambridge residents their...
