For the Coffee Shop, Unfortunately I was unable to rate lower than Poor_Fair.
The Decor is good, however, this is on my findings, all The Coffee House has to offer
The few occasions I have visited the Cafe, (only the first visit being by choice!) Future visits were reluctance and used as a convenience whilst meeting with collegues, no further approvements were found only followed by more dissapointment!
My finding were as follows..
The service is very slow, The coffee is bitter. the food looks better than it tastes and is very bland! (the food, sorry did not enthrall me either!
The pictures on the website is very misleading, the food looks deliscious, yet again again, this is not what is provided.
The Proprieter struggles serving one customer and finds it challenging to serve a table of four!.
Food was delivered to our table one at a time so which made for a very uncomfortable setting! (Proprieter failed to notice this).
A woman pointed out that a drink was given to a very young child that was too hot, Hard to believe but she was ignored by the proprieter! the woman spoke out a few times and asked for milk, eventually the Proprieter retorted, "their is milk in the fridge help yourself!! Should the Proprieter have used sense, testing and showing sensitivity to serving hot drinks to a mixture of ages of his customers!
A family run business? I would strongly recommened amending this status due to the lack of support from the Proprieters wife who seem to use the cafe as a "home home from home setting". Happily airing drug, alcohol and other exploites to the community from inside and outside of the cafe, subjected not to those who are interested in listening! Their is no excape from the screeching
I will give this cafe a rating of - Give it...
Read moreIt's a small place - in an out of the way area of Cambridge. I'd imagine there is a torrent of people in around 8am-10am made up of workmen and school run mums from the school opposite, which is why I chose to visit at around quarter past 10am. The staff are really friendly. The coffee is among the best I have tried around cambridge and the breakfast is just as good. You can tell the ingredients they use in everything are good quality. It didn't take a long time to serve our food, but it wasn't quick enough to have come out of a microwave so that was a good sign. It wasn't greasy or heavy, the food was literally cooked to perfection. Now there may not be as much served on your plate as say, wetherspoons breakfast - but I felt twice as full and ten times as satisfied. I will be coming back here regularly and recommend everyone else to do the same. Best breakfast in Cambridge...
Read moreFinally managed to stop for a cappuccino (& sneaky little piece of millionaire's shortbread) as I passed by this week, enroute to an appointment. Have driven past a few times the past couple of years and not been able to stop but I always thought it looked like a gem of a place & I was right. The cappuccino was spot on, just how I like it & the millionaire's shortbread just speaks for itself (please note: other delicious looking cakes were available at the time too!)... A lovely warm, friendly & cosy atmosphere in here... Eyed up the sausage rolls too so think I will have to bring my little boy along some time to try as he loves good ole...
