First time visit. Heard a few times that the food is and decided to give it a go for a family get together. The snap was bostin! We meet once a quarter and have been to some reputable places and individually have eaten at some top end restaurants. Sure, the others have had fancier decor but at the end of the meal, we all decided without hesitation that this was the best food we have gad in a long long time. Don’t be fooled or put off by the menu. Nepal is a land locked country sharing borders with India and Tibet (Chinese occupied) so it’s typical to see some other familiar dishes of both India and Chinese influences. I’ve traveled all the countries above many years ago and can say this is as good as it gets 👍 The service was second to none with the staff able to tell you all about each dish on the menus in detail and support with any insecurity about trying something new. One of the group requested off menu item and it was accommodated. It was an Indian dish, chicken patia. Commented it was the best they had ever had. The quality of the meat and ingredients were simply better than anything we have experienced prior. We had mixed grill to share for a starter. OMG - the meat fell off the bone and melted it was so tender. One of the group had Everest fish curry. Always a gamble with fish that you end up with cheap Panga or Vietnamese Cobbler- wet and mushy fish. This was not the case. It was white meaty fish seasoned and cooked perfectly. Forgot to take photos as too busy eating and talking but the food was presented really well. Drinks were really reasonable price. Cheaper than most pubs I use and the food was exceptional value for money. 7 people = £192 for starters, mains and drinks. Will definitely...
Read moreThought we'd try a Nepalese restaurant for something a little different, booked online the same day and received a confirmation email, were greeted promptly at the door and shown to a table, opted for an "Everest" lager which was a nice pint and a portion of poppadoms and prawn crackers while we selected our meals, very good vegan options were available I opted for chicken momos which was something new for me and I really enjoyed it, kind of chicken wrapped in dumplings served in a spicy soup, was quite filling so I was worried I'd gone "too big, too early!" But it was ok, vegan and vegetarian samosas were enjoyed by other party members, service was helpful and not too intrusive, I was advised to try the Himalayan curry which was great, plenty of chicken and other ingredients and subtly different to anything I'd had before, meat was perfectly cooked and the whole dish was delicious (washed down with another pint of Everest!) Nice decor, comfy seats and atmospheric music, great place, wouldn't hesitate to return in fact I might take the extended family next time to show off my new found knowledge of...
Read moreOur first time here. Lovely friendly staff. The entrance door is narrow and it was slightly tricky to enter with the wheelchair. The restaurant being a converted house is a bit tight for moving about. The venue is very tastefully decorated and clean & tidy. Very comfortable chairs. An extensive menu of dishes I had not tried before. On the night of our visit It was mild and the central heating radiators were very hot, two of our party were sitting adjacent to one and were uncomfortably hot. The drink service was efficient but there was a small delay for one of the meals being served and a few minutes wait for the last meal to be brought to the table. One of our party found a piece of plastic in his dinner which was pointed out to the staff who were very apologetic and gave a decent discount on the bill which was appreciated. We enjoyed our meals. For the prices charged I thought everything was very...
