Ive drank in this pub for about two years now being local to where i live just down the road its convenient but tonight i feel the need to voice my opinion, the bar staff have a serious attitude problem, after ordering two double vodka oranges and one vodka only being a single then the bar tender tried using the excuse of there being more ice in the one drink when the ice was both the same in both glasses, then when we took the drinks back to ask for the single to be topped up to a double that we paid for, to have the bar tender give us attitude and the other bar tender on shift try to gang up and say that he poured a double even though there was a blatent difference in the drink quantity, id recommend the bar staff have some training in customer service and learn how to speak to people in a professional/respectable manner and to get there measurements correct being conned out of alcohol ive paid for on two occasions now previously a pint not being topped up after only being half poured because the bar staff have full blown conversations with people in the winding wheel click at the bar and not concentrating on there job, also waiting times at the bar is a joke choosing to serve ther pals before customers who have been stood at the bar for more than ten minutes choosing to serve outsiders when they feel like it, i will be taking my custom elsewhere from now on, until the management take a review of there...
Read moreWent here as a party of 11 including 4 children. Phoned to book a table but told it wasn't necessary. The reason we chose this venue was the fact that it offered a good range of gluten free options and as 4 members of the party have celiac disease (including a 4 year old toddler) thought we would give it a try. We used to go in the pub when we lived near to where it is but haven't been for years and it will be years or probably never till we go there again.........WHAT A DUMP! When we phoned to enquire about booking a table we told them that it included 4 children under the age of 4 so would need high chairs but on arrival we were told they only had 1? Not a good start. The pub is filthy, tatty well worn seats worn out carpets and long overdue a refurb,it was just the same as I remember it the last time we went there over 10 years ago. No-one in our party enjoyed the food I won't go into detail but let's just say none of it was worth eating no-one in our party finished their meal its no wonder they take your food money when you order if they didn't they wouldn't have to many people paying. Compared with other venues in the local area the Winding Wheel comes bottom of my must go again list. Very disappointed and would advise anyone looking for good food in a nice clean environment to...
Read moreStanding at 6’1 and 1/2 (dispite what he tells you) Jacob Lowbridge is coming off a hot streak of nights at the wheel averaging a whole 78.4 glasses collected per shift he is the leader in the league but not only in this stat but also in pints of guinness poured per shift at a whopping 34.9. With his long frame he is able to stretch the floor and identify empty glasses from the other side of the playing field something which simply can not be taught. All this natural talent is combined with his unreal engine to sustain such intensity over the entire 90 which allows him to achieve such impressive stat lines. A big move for the young buck is on the horizon soon enough a bigger player such as wetherspoons will snap him up and give him the chance to prove himself on the biggest stage of them all. Keep a luck out for this future star as he could be responsible for finally bringing it home again in the dishwasher filling finals. Also a shout out to Jess who puts in a great effort and has an unreal engine but can’t quite deliver the same numbers as...
