Disappointing Experience - Poor Service and Overpriced Food. Unfortunately had a disappointing experience. Service at the bar was poor from the start, the lady serving did not seem interested. Was given wrong coffee which I had to ask for again, no menu to look through so ordered fish finger sandwich from the board. This was extremely overpriced for frozen fish fingers which I could make at home, and was so bland, did not finish. Customer in front asked if the scampi was fresh, she was very abruptly told that you can’t buy fresh scampi and they do not have any anything GF to offer her. Another customer was given their sandwich and when the staff member handed this over she said ‘he’s done it on white bread instead of brown’ and walked away. A lovely spot on Whitstable sea front. Sunken so there's protection from.tje sun. All seating is outside and that was just perfect when I visited and sat underneath a nice parasol. I had a delicious hazelnut milkshake and ordered a bacon sandwich and some chunky chips. It was very near to closing time but the couple running things were still accomodating and welcoming. Stopped here today after a walk along the seafront. Lovely friendly couple running this little place. We are a family of four and had fish finger sandwiches, beef sandwich and brie and bacon toasties. My younger daughter wanted to try the Scampi and they very kindly gave her some Scampi on the side of her sandwich! All seating is outside and we sat there listening to waves of sea and people watching. Highly recommend this place, even if its just for a coffee! Love to see little businesses busy. We will be back next time we travel to Whitstable. Thank you...
