I’ll keep it short and sweet. Me, my partner and our 3 month old booked a table here today and although we were late, it wasn’t an issue for them. We arrived and our table wasn’t ready even though they knew we were coming. We took 15 mins to decide on what to eat. We ordered 1 starter and 2 mains with a few sides. We specified that we wanted the starter to come out first and the mains afterwards. We were waiting 40 mins for this starter. I eventually asked how long it would be which the server went to go and check. She came back and advised they were plating it now. She then immediately asked “ just to check, you wanted your starter first? “. Clearly the person who took our order didn’t put it through properly and the chefs were making everything come out at the same time because 2 mins after we finished the starter, the mains were ready. Starters and mains were absolutely delicious but not worth the wait when you have an inpatient 3 month old. After finishing mains it took a while for someone to initiate the next steps… bill/dessert so we asked for a dessert menu and quickly decided but again no one around to take our order. Might i add throughout this whole reservation the restaurant wasn’t even at 1/4 capacity. When we eventually ordered, it took another 20 mins for a microwaved sticky toffee and a take away cheeseboard. Ridiculous! Just ruined the experience having to wait so long for everything. I had to ask for the bill afterwards. They bought the bill. Again, no one around to take the payment so i had to ask for a card machine.
Food was amazing but if you’re looking for reasonably quick service, you’re looking in the...
Read moreI was there this summer and completely forgor to write my review, The Whitstable Oyster Company restaurant is a true culinary treasure that captures the essence of this charming coastal town. Situated right by the water, the ambiance is serene and picturesque, making it the perfect spot for a memorable dining experience.
As you’d expect from a place with "oyster" in its name, the oysters here are absolutely sublime. Freshly harvested and served with precision, they are a must-try for seafood enthusiasts. Whether you prefer them natural, with a hint of lemon, or paired with one of their delicious accompaniments, each oyster is a celebration of Whitstable’s rich maritime heritage.
Beyond the oysters, the menu offers a variety of seafood dishes that showcase the freshest local ingredients. From succulent fish to perfectly cooked crab and other seasonal specialties, every dish is crafted with care and attention to detail. Their wine selection pairs beautifully with the menu, enhancing the overall dining experience.

Read moreGood food , Good views, Good friends. I went to Whitstable by double – decker bus from Canterbury with my friends, which is famous for oyster cuisine and terrific views. The scenery outside the bus window was really stunning. When we arrived, we got hungry after 2:00 P.M.. We came across a restaurant called Oyster company to have a late lunch. When I went into the restaurant, the staff was kind and attentive there was Christmas spirit in the restaurant’s atmosphere. I ordered fish and chips. The bread with jam served as an appetizer was so soft, and the beer I ordered for the drink was refreshing rather than bitter. It tasted good in my throat. Actually, I didn't expect much from the fish and chips because of previous disappointing experience. When I took a bite, it was really fresh and melted in my mouth. The mashed pea sauce was also soft and creamy. The crispiness of the batter on the outside, the moist and tender fish meat on the inside combined well to give it a tasty texture. The tartar sauce and mashed pea sauce further enhanced the taste. It was late lunch, but it was worth the wait. Overall, it tasted better than similar priced Fish and Chips out there. After lunch, we walked along the beach smelling the sea, and the view of the sea added to the trip. Fish and chips taste will imprint on my mind. If anyone comes here, you'll never regret visiting this restaurant. I highly...
