Me and my girls went there for the first time today and ordered for a platter meal for 4, requested the waiter if we can have no avocado and cucumber for our platter and he said that was fine, however few minutes later the chef stormed out and shouted at me and my friends saying he can’t pick and choose and only he can choose, the attitude was really bad as he sighed and looked annoyed. After the platter was served we ended up with 12 pieces of avocado and cucumber sushi. Just came for a good dinner with my girls but the chef totally embarrassed us and ruined our mood for the night! Food was good but the customer service was below the...

Possibly Canterbury's most hidden gem. Though honestly it's become so popular now that I don't think it's all that hidden. Without a doubt some of the best sushi I've had. The prices are too be expected, it's sushi and it's certainly on the higher quality side. But it's absolutely worth it. The restaurant does admittedly have very little seating, it's a Japanese bento style sushi bar, aka: takeaway style. But if you are fortunate enough to get seating it really is a small slice of Japan in Canterbury and Canterbury is all the better for it. One of my favorite restaurants in Canterbury! They also do...

Absolutely awful. The sushi fish selection is limited. No fatty tuna, mackerel, yellowtail which any half decent sushi place would have. The yakitori was so sweet with way too much sauce that I had one bite and sent it back. The chef still insisted on charging me even though the full dish was returned minus one bite. The miso soup was extremely salty. The place was almost empty and now we know why. After leaving we walked past the Happy Samurai and saw lots of happy people tucking into big steaming bowls of noodles and glistening sushi. Wished we’d gone there....

Well made sushi and sashimi, I came here when they were very quiet but it wasn't uncomfortable. Staff are attentive and happy to advise and help. They do small ice cream tubs for after if you want. I'd really recommend their teas, they are not just a fruit tea bag but using actual ingredients so in my lemon and ginger tea there were bits at the bottom which are lovely. This is only a small place but well worth a visit for genuine good food. And felt quite homely with my Winnie the Pooh cup 😂 a real bonus being right next to the Marlow.

Quality food but something is off. First thing first, I was worried when the miso soup came with the huge stainless spoon. My friends said it tasted alright though. As for the sushi bowls, while the fish was fresh and plump, the portion was super small, even comparing with Japanese restaurants in London. It’s only about one third of market average. I left still hungry. There was no normal salad option other than the sweet seaweed salad. Ordinary seaweed salad, like the ones in supermarkets and fast food chains.
