Harraby Pub and Kitchen — Restaurant in Carlisle

Really like this pub. We came for drinks on the way to Scotland and then for a meal on the way home a week later. Was a really cosy atmosphere. On the way it was warm and so the garden was nice to sit in. On the way back it was cold so sat inside with our little dog. This pub is Dog Friendly not just tolerant. Which is very important to me. The staff made a fuss and brought him some water. The food was very nice and perfectly cooked, though I think I had the end of a bag of chips unfortunately as not many and mostly small crispy ones. However, I didn't mention it as it didn't bother me that much. Just a warning though for the Carolina Reaper Chicken Wings...oh my god! Soooo hot! Great pub/restaurant this and my commendation to the bar maid who sorted us. I think she was Sarah? Very attentive and explained the menu and the specials and how to save a few quid. This even though she was clearly very busy. Pool table, big screen sport and lovely beer garden, the Harraby Pub & Kitchen ticks all the boxes for sure and it is dog friendly. Wide range of food on the menu from small plates of wings to all day breakfasts. Easily accessible from a quiet car park off the main road and great for wheel chair users as a fairly level site. Went in tonight to celebrate my sons 30th birthday. I'd phoned and booked it the other night. When we arrived, they had put banners and balloons up for him as well. We shared 3 plates between the 4 of us for starters followed by fish and chips for me (2 pieces of fish) 1/2 chicken for my partner, chicken donner burger for the birthday boy and macaroni cheese for his g/f. 2 deserts were ordered and then they came out with the birthday cake I'd brought in. Plenty to eat, plenty to drink, food and atmosphere great but the staff were excellent. Great banter and nothing was too much trouble. Really good value for money. Will return.
