McDonald's — Restaurant in Chelmsford

Place was under staffed although it appeared that those preparing the food were falling over each other. I do wonder if anybody was actually managing them. Lots of rubbish under the units in the cooking area and nobody around to clear the debris from the tables. A spilt coke on the floor in the restaurant which was not cleaned up by the staff. My wife actually put a wet floor sign over it and when reporting it to a member of staff, the girl appeared to have little concern over the matter. My burger was cold and had to ask for serviettes, so for the three of us were given a pile about an inch tall. What a terrible waste, so took most of them home to save wastage. My daughter went back for ketchup and salt, so was given three ketchup and a load of salt packets. On ordering our meal, the machine printing ther receipt had no paper in it. Fortunately my daughter saw our order number otherwise we would not have known which was our order. The bins in the restaurant were overflowing, perhaps that is why customers were leaving the trays on the tables and not disposing of ther rubbish after finishing their meals. It was just a Terrible experience from start to finish. These restaurants are handy when on the road for a quick meal but never seen one so untidy and disorganised as this. I am sure if an inspector had visited yesterday, the place would have lost its cleanliness rating perhaps even shut down. It really was that bad. We will not be going there again in a hurry that...

Wow, after going through the drive through I was asked to wait ant the next window for my order. After waiting and seeing about 15 cars go through par me I decided to phone the restaurant. I could hear the phone ringing and ringing. Two (2) managers walked past the ringing phone, talking, walked into an office, came out and still ignored the phone. The phone rang off so I called again. It was answered and I said I was at the window waiting for my food only to be hung up on. My food finally turned up and I asked for a manager. He came along and made it clear that it was nothing to do with him as it was a shift change and said I could have my food or a refund... not much of a sorry or anything. I was waiting for 15 minutes and that may not seem much but fast food was the only option as I was due to meet someone and I had to get some food for my daughter. Your staff's attitude was and I disgusting. From the guy taking the order who was unwelcoming, rude and abrupt, to your manager who clearly had no interest in customer satisfaction as he was heard by myself saying "well I've got to bloody sort this out". I left unhappy and ended up having food elsewhere as the food supplied was cold and I couldn't be bothered to waste my time talking to someone who didn't really care about his job. The one star is given as my daughter has no problem eating cold...

Entered this premises with my wife and UK Registered Assistance Dog. I was told by a member of your staff to 'get that dog out of here, no dogs allowed.' Though I was annoyed, politely said he was an assistance dog, and pointed to his burgundy coat. Her reply was OK then.

I wanted to order food to eat in. The machine stated take away only even though people were eating inside. I queried this, and was told in an impatient way to just use the machine.

No doubt as she was a young girl, and up to date with technology found my incompetence with technology extremely annoying. Eventually I managed to place and pay for the order. No receipt was dispensed but a young man offered to get one for me. I said if you can confirm my order has been placed it would be alright.

Order was confirmed and I was told this would be brought to my table. This was not the case order left on counter and called out. As I am profoundly deaf I was unaware of this. When my wife returned to the table she saw items on the counter, looked in the bag, saw they were ours and brought them over. There was no milk or stirrer! When she eventually got these the tea was undrinkable too strong and cold. Could not be bothered to complain so up and left.

We will not be using your restaurant again and will alert Hearing Dogs for Deaf people about...
