Been here before and food was terrible, dry, overcooked, burnt, cold and not very appetising. A year later we thought weâd give it a chance and see if it had improved. Unfortunately or fortunately we didnât get to find out. Service is absolutely abysmal. Booked a table online, no problem. When we arrived, went to the bar and asked where our table was. Advised that the waitress puts names on reserved tables and had to find it ourselves. Name not on any table, obviously. Stood around in dining area waiting for service or help but nothing. Chef saw us from kitchen and so did gormless waiter but not one of them came out to ask why we were waiting for a table or not being served. Rude. Actually funny that a table for 6 was reserved in the name of lesa, if thatâs a name and reckoned it was for us, even though thatâs not close, morons. No surprise, we left and wonât return. How on earth does your business function? The brewery needs to know. All that will happen is the manager will say to contact him etc to discuss it further. Nothing needs to be discussed further, my review stands. I look forward to your...
Read moreMy partner and I went for a late lunch, it wasnât busy however were told there was a 35 minute wait so we waited and when we eventually received our food we got our side first, then our starter and 1 main, then a second main about 15 minutes later, we wouldnât have ordered a starter if we had known it would be arriving with the mains. The burger that was ordered was missing ingredients listed on the menu and was massively over cooked, the gammon was dry and chewy aswell as being burnt on top, it was advertised as being 8oz however Iâd be surprised if it was even 6oz. The manager offered us a free dessert which we declined and eventually requested a refund for the burger which was inedible - and we really arenât picky at all! But this food was really poor quality and definitely not worth the money charged, the manager apologised but didnât seem too concerned by our complaint so would not eat...
Read moreI visit this pub from time to time for lunch. It is a standard green king pub menu which is nothing special but great value especially if you take the inclusive deals - eg two pub classics for around £12. The green king cask ales are very good - the pub keeps them in optimal condition. The service used to be good but I guess that depends on a competent chef. On my most recent visits food service has been slow - 40 minutes wait for toasted sandwiches and chips - very poor especially as there were very few diners. The excuse was they were serving a big table - but it was only six people and even then they were all served food at different times. I imagine this place gets busy as a local boozer at nights - lots of TV screens. I will leave it a while but will try it again one day in hope they fix the poor service. There are some very nice pub restaurants near by but they are much...
