My partner and I went for a late lunch, it wasn’t busy however were told there was a 35 minute wait so we waited and when we eventually received our food we got our side first, then our starter and 1 main, then a second main about 15 minutes later, we wouldn’t have ordered a starter if we had known it would be arriving with the mains. The burger that was ordered was missing ingredients listed on the menu and was massively over cooked, the gammon was dry and chewy aswell as being burnt on top, it was advertised as being 8oz however I’d be surprised if it was even 6oz. The manager offered us a free dessert which we declined and eventually requested a refund for the burger which was inedible - and we really aren’t picky at all! But this food was really poor quality and definitely not worth the money charged, the manager apologised but didn’t seem too concerned by our complaint so would not eat there again!

Came here for the first time today with my friend's puppy and she was a bit nervous about having the dog with her, but the staff were very helpful and accomodating and brought a bowl of water out straight away for her. I wish I'd taken a photo of the doggy menu because it was brilliant but the pup enjoyed a doggy sausage roast dinner, and the lovely barman (didn't catch his name) even put it in the freezer to cool the gravy down for her. Then they gave her a doggy ice cream 😍 (thank you!) The human food was good too - again, staff were very helpful with accommodating me and my awkward allergies without making a fuss, which was great because its hard for me to eat out these days. Will definitely make this a regular lunch spot

The experience at The Town Crier is second to none, being my local establisment it has everything to offer from great food, good selection of drinks, and impecable service with a friendly atmosphere. I must have to say the bar staff are very pleasant with one to mention Carlos who has plenty of humour and laughs like Mutley on hellium.

Been here before and food was terrible, dry, overcooked, burnt, cold and not very appetising. A year later we thought we’d give it a chance and see if it had improved. Unfortunately or fortunately we didn’t get to find out. Service is absolutely abysmal. Booked a table online, no problem. When we arrived, went to the bar and asked where our table was. Advised that the waitress puts names on reserved tables and had to find it ourselves. Name not on any table, obviously. Stood around in dining area waiting for service or help but nothing. Chef saw us from kitchen and so did gormless waiter but not one of them came out to ask why we were waiting for a table or not being served. Rude. Actually funny that a table for 6 was reserved in the name of lesa, if that’s a name and reckoned it was for us, even though that’s not close, morons. No surprise, we left and won’t return. How on earth does your business function? The brewery needs to know. All that will happen is the manager will say to contact him etc to discuss it further. Nothing needs to be discussed further, my review stands. I look forward to your...

I visit this pub from time to time for lunch. It is a standard green king pub menu which is nothing special but great value especially if you take the inclusive deals - eg two pub classics for around ÂŁ12. The green king cask ales are very good - the pub keeps them in optimal condition. The service used to be good but I guess that depends on a competent chef. On my most recent visits food service has been slow - 40 minutes wait for toasted sandwiches and chips - very poor especially as there were very few diners. The excuse was they were serving a big table - but it was only six people and even then they were all served food at different times. I imagine this place gets busy as a local boozer at nights - lots of TV screens. I will leave it a while but will try it again one day in hope they fix the poor service. There are some very nice pub restaurants near by but they are much...
