Six Bells — Restaurant in Cherwell District

Family member booked function room for 50th birthday bash. At about 8pm, an hour after arrival we were told kids would have to leave by 9pm as it was pub policy. No mention in terms or when booked. After complaints they relented and begrudgingly agreed 10:30pm. When asked what 50th birthday wouldn't have kids involved they responded that they weren't aware it was a 50th, just a family party. Since when have families not included children? Many people had travelled some distance with kids so it really put a dampener on the whole evening. Quite clear from the landlords attitude that despite the play equipment and fair size garden, they don't want children there, he was very short with a child too. Have given 2 stars because the food was OK, so only fair that if you haven't had kids, adopted, fostered or taking the grandchildren out for an evening it may not be the last place on earth...

I cannot say enough about the Six Bells for their kindness. This past weekend was my aunt and uncle's 67th wedding anniversary. My husband and I wanted to do something special for them so we called the Six Bells on Sunday. The kind gentleman took the order and asked if we could pick it up for delivery. That was difficult because we are in Canada!

Toby, the landlord, delivered the two Sunday roast lunches to their home himself. My uncle left us a phone message yesterday telling us how surprised he was at the delivery and how wonderful the food was. He described in detail the massive amount of roast with all the trimmings. Thank you so much for making their day memorable! My uncle was so grateful. ♥

When we are in Kidlington next we will definitely stop in at the Six Bells. I highly recommend their food and service to anyone in Kidlington...

Popped into the six bells on Saturday just to catch up with a friend. We arrived at 8pm and was planning just to have a drink and move on. The atmosphere was so good and the service was amazing we ended up staying until it closed . The guys behind the bar really made you feel welcome. The pub was very busy . I met some great people that evening and I'll definitely be going back. Thankyou to all at...
