What a disappointing experience! We booked a table to celebrate my birthday & it was a mistake. When we arrived we were waiting for the table we had booked, no big deal, we were then seated on a very small uncomfortable table behind a group of very loud women screaming and swearing, we couldn't hear ourselves think nevermind have a conversation, the staff did very little about this other than keep topping up their bottomless drinks. Until multiple tables complained then we were told they were on their last drinks. The service was very poor, the staff didn't seem to have enough training and were too understaffed to cope with the demand. Food was undercooked and had to be sent back to the kitchen & when the waitress returned she spilled my friends camenbert on the floor and did not replace it. Although the young girls were lovely and as helpful as they could be, the old one with the blonde Pixie-cut, didn't catch her name unfortunatley, was so rude, dishonest and unprofessional! I had accidentally left my rings in the toilet when washing my hands and had only realised when we had left, I rang up and a young girl went and found them for me, for that I am very very grateful as they are expensive and sentimental pieces. I was told to come and get them that evening and that they were open till '11 or 12' I arrived at Deja Vu at 10:40 to collect my Jewellery as arranged, to be met with a very hostile attitude from the older lady (perhaps managment, if so most definitely needs training on how to speak to customers) she was rude and unhelpful, told me my jewellery wasn't there which was a lie. Then told me she didnt know where it was and that she couldnt find out. Refused to call any members of staff from that nights shift and said there was "no way" for her to contact anyone or find my jewellery (that I had been told had been found and would be kept safe for me) she then very arrogantly tried to fob me off. Only when I stood my ground and said I wouldn't be leaving without my jewellery, did she manage to contact someone to tell her where it was. Which took about 30 seconds, therefor it wasn't as 'impossible' as stated moments before. Turns out my rings were in the till all along, which makes it very difficult to believe that the only member of staff left on the premesis, who was cashing up "hadn't seen or heard" of my missing rings, that were right infront of her eyes. We will not be returning and we will make sure none of our family, friends or acquaintances make the...
Read moreA real shame. Nice place with mostly good staff. Food was really good as well.
Our evening was very much ruined when asking to settle up the bill, we were presented with a figure on the card reader about £20 more than the printed bill. When we questioned this we were told it for an additional round of drinks that they had not added to the bill...
After a conversation with the duty manager, they agreed for us to pay the printed bill, which we did and left.
A day later we received a text with list of the drinks that were allegedly missed of the bill, with a link to pay the 'remaining' balance.
This was followed by a wholely unpleasant text threatening the matter being reported to the police if the balance wasn't paid. Still no receipt was provided during any of this.
Disgraceful customer service, and a poor showing from the team running this restaurant.
It does leave my to wonder how many extra costs are charged to people's bills at the end of a night that they may...
Read moreWe went here on a Thursday when they had their tapas and wine special. Brilliant deal 5 taps and a bottle of red or white wine or £45 . You can take the wine home if you prefer to drink something else. The food was divine. We had the beef, the calamari, the sweet Chilli prawns, pear and goats cheese and mushroom tapas. They were all delicious. So nice to have food of this quality and variety available in Chesterfield. Definately recomend it even when they don t have the special on the prices are reasonable and the food is a cut above the...
