Royal Oak Brampton Chatsworth Road — Restaurant in Chesterfield

The manager here is an absolute disgrace. We were having some drinks in the beer garden, six of us around a table which is perfectly within government guidance (this was on 5th June - the rule of six outside was gone). However, the manager saw an issue with us moving a couple of tables together to give our group of six a bit more space. This was despite three of their staff members being fine with us and ordering drinks. This was not stopping anyone else because the rest of the pub wasn’t full.

The manager came all guns blazing and didn’t ask us politely to move the tables away, she kicked off. Even though we didn’t break the government rules. It’s mystifying when you’ve been closed for the best part of a year, that you’d actively be rude to customers and turn away business.An absolutely disgraceful way to talk to customers who had spent around £100. She then decided to kick us out for no good reason at all, because we dared to reason with this nonsensical argument that we’d apparently broken rules, even though we were in a group of six (legal inside, never mind outside!)

The staff were fine, the manager was an absolute disgrace to pub managers. We won’t be coming there again and I hope nobody else who wants to be treated with any degree of respect ever bothers going...

Was so excited to be finally having a night out. My friend and i booked a table for 6.45pm. When we arrived we were told there was a problem with the booking system and that they didn't have us down. However we had messages confirming bookings so we were let in. We were shown to our table where we were told someone would be over in a few mins to take our drinks orders. We waited and waited for someone to come. We asked several members of staff who kept saying you will be next. We waited approx 30 mins before anyone actually came and took our drinks orders. We were hopefull at this point that our evening could finally begin. But those were shattered when we had to wait another 30mins for our drinks to be brought to the table and this was after we had asked several more staff if we were getting our drinks. We eventually got them an hr after arriving!. That was 1 hour into our 2 hr booked window so we had an hr to finish our drinks before it was time to leave. Bitterly disappointed. The poor staff were run off their feet. Clearly there were too many members of public for them to cope with. There was NO social distancing whatsoever. First off your barmaid was aware of her presence, the girl used your barmaids phone then changed her coins into notes, then she came over to our table and was pan handling us for £1.50. That's when my friend got overwhelmed and had a meltdown (he suffers from asperger's syndrome) the barmaid escalated the situation trying to blame management saying that its management policy to let her in and help her. He couldn't process that and to be honest we cant. The begger in question is banned from all the pubs in Chesterfield must be a reason why! An hour later she was asking us for money again outside the sun, she didn't recognize us as her main focus is on money for drugs. She must've asked us a thousand times for money. But it's the first time weve been pan handled in a pub. Secondly why refer to my friend as the bald gentleman we was in a party of 3, 2 woman and a man.
