The junction is an interesting place. Essentially it's a throwback to the time when we used to go out and meet people in 'wine bars'. If you reading this and thinking what's a wine bar? Well, it was when people went out to a place that wasn't a pub but it wasn't a club either. You got a drink and you would talk, eye up the crowd. People watch, maybe dress up a little, maybe even dance a little. Smooch, talk, discuss, and exchange numbers before going on somewhere else. It's a place where the music is just loud enough to have to talk over. And the music type was jazz funk played by a DJ. The most interesting thing about the Junction is it somehow blends the everyday function of a pub which it is not and a wine bar/club and restaurant all under the same roof at the same time. And it does it rather well. The seating inside and outside are well-represented with varying levels of comfort depending on the area you choose to sit, eat, drink, or dine in. The restrooms have hand cream to pamper your paws with and the drinks and cocktails are excellent. The clientele ranges from mid 20's to late 50's. The dress code is casually smart or smart. The bar service is rapid. This review was based on an evening scenario. However, the Junction morphs into a nice eating establishment in the day with its large street view windows and aqua-colored comfy sofas beckoning you to take a load off...
Read moreManager at this place needs a serious customer service training!!! I have never met a person who’s rude, agressive and horrible as her! I went in last night with my friend, we were served by a lovely, young girl. I went to ladies and when I got back to the bar, my friend was very upset & she was crying. The woman (she told us she was the Manager) refused to serve my friend with 2 more drinks because apparently she looked like she had already enough to drink. We were nowhere near to be drunk and I found the manager very agressive & very rude! I’ve tried to order a drink for myself n my friend (we wanted to try a different cocktail, )but the manager told the young girls not to serve us no more! Her attitude was wrong and horrible and to top it up, she took our first 2 cocktails of us (which we didn’t even drink yet) because apparently we did swear but we did not!!! We don’t swear at anybody! I have never seen a person dealing with customers in a way she did deal with us last night! It was all wrong! I bet she would never be that agressive to a man or a group of men. I will/we will not be coming back. Oh & don’t waste your money on buying cocktails, (while this horrible manager works there)as you won’t be allowed...
Read moreGreat beer but the place falls flat on two major and related irks in UK bars: Staff that are not real bartenders ("mixologists") when theyre trying to be a cocktail bar.
This frequently means theyre short staffed while the poor person takes 15 minutes to make 2 drinks with flaming figs in them...
Down with this sort of thing
The staff don't keep an eye on who should be served next, opting to ask the crowd "who's next?". Invariably it'll be an obnoxious person who just stepped up that shouts and then orders a segmented round of cocktails delaying you getting your beer and making you want to just walk down to the Royal Oak (only a minute's walk down the road).
It's the "hip" new place in Brampton but that brings its own issues.
Try to catch it around 1700 on a weekday to get the best...
