We had the Popadoms basket which contained six different dips, which is more than you normally would get. Having said that, we were disappointed that we were only given three Popadoms for £4.95, and particularly so as there were only two of us so either four or even six would have been nicer. We also ordered the Punjab mixed platter, which was absolutely delicious and a lovely compliment to the mains dish. The platter contained no meat and so it would be great for Vegetarians or Vegans. We ordered two mains (one Vegan & one Chicken) along with Pilau rice. The amount of food was not too much and not too little, more the standard size, and so it was ideal. The ingredients used sets this restaurant way far apart from the likes of others within Chichester and Emsworth.
Car parking is very limited with a maximum of 5-8 spaces, so either walk there, get a taxi or come early and park a distance away. The restaurant inside is decorated lovely with a partial tuk tuk to the left as you enter, which is where the bar is situated. You are greeted by some lovely ladies whom seat you. There is plenty of seating, which looks very comfortable with 60% having high-backed seating.
For the above order, Popadoms, x1 mixed starter, x2 mains and x1 rice we spent £50.30, which is on the high side particularly for the amount we purchased. We felt we were paying restaurant prices for a takeaway service. Having said that, the ingredients, the amount of food, and the quality of the goods was so good that we will be coming back again.
They even do live music on a Monday and Wednesday.
There are some that prefer a well known restaurant in St. Pancras but we actually prefer travelling from Chichester to Emsworth just to get our curry BUT Namaste Punjab may well be our new...

I recommend dropping by here if you're in the area. Though the team will fit you in if they can, booking assures you a table. We hadn't booked, but we were accommodated with ease and very graciously.
We both had the Maharaja of Patiala thali, a great way to sample across the menu as it has four curries, along with rice, naan, a starter, a savoury yoghurt side and a dessert. The food was faultless. Flavours were distinct and spot on. Portion sizes were great, and the thali is filling. Our starter featured pakoras, each of which was piping hot, crisp, and just as they should be. If you can get a pakora right, then you can cook. The rest of the thali lived up to the promise. Butter chicken had just the right delicate buttery blend you'd expect. Daal makhani had just the right savoury bite, tempered with butter. Lamb curry was rich with a browned onion gravy, lit up by cinammon, cloves, and ginger. Paneer was yielding and sat within a pleasingly rounded spinach sauce, with the right balance of fenugreek. Naan was crisp and came quartered and buttered, while the rice was fluffy with each grain distinct.
Namaste Punjab had been open a couple of weeks when we visited and was still hitting its stride. I'd say it was doing so with more hits than misses. Thoroughly...
