Absolutely shocking treatment by the manager of this establishment. Was my first time out in over 6 months with my family, my youngest daughter had macaroni cheese served up in what looked like a ramikin. Just requested a reduction in cost as compared to our whole table it looked like a child's meal other patrons agreed with us. The lovely waitress asked the manager to discuss the issue with my Daughter. She very loudly and in front of all eating said and I quote " I knew by the look of you lot, you would complain". As it turned out the 1 mouthful of food was good, diet coke tasted like coloured fizzy water, only had a sip! We did not get to eat more than a mouthful of any of our meals as the manager insulted us that much, we all got up and left. Go, enjoy just for goodness sake DO NOT COMPLAIN. The manager needs to attend a customer service course. And by the way the daughter she chose to attack is a solicitor and I truly hope she follows this incident up with the owners of...
Read moreBEWARE, NOT THE SAUSAGE PUB OF OLD. I eat out 3-4 times a week, and I can honestly say this is the worst 'restaurant' experience I have ever had. Pie empty of filling, with an absence of the listed accompaniments. When the waiter asked how the meal was, I politely pointed out my empty pie to which he replied 'well its not our fault' followed by 'we don't make the pies'. I enquired as to why he asked me about my enjoyment of the meal but he just stormed off in a petulant teenage sullk. The owners and senior staff at no point attempted to remedy the issue. This is the only time I have ever exercised my consumer right to not pay for a meal. The owner still had the gall to suggest that this was not my right, to which I offered to leave my contact details should he wish to pursue the matter. Funnily enough, he didn't accept that offer. This does not feel like a restaurant. It's a pub that serves poir bar food in some dingy back rooms...
Read moreCan't comment about the food as we only stopped for drinks, but did find the choice of pies or sausages strange as the only mains options, but hey, when in Rome I suppose. Bar staff very welcoming and pleasant. On entry there's a small bar area where you need to enter your car details if using their car park, but we found the outside space tucked through the bar area and to the side very pleasant. There's a small heater and blankets for your use if required for those that enjoy a drink outside, it's a lovely little area under cover or not, your choice. We will definitely be visiting again when having a stroll round the Emsworth shores. Please don't pass this little place by as although it's situated on the main road and doesn't look much from the outside, it really is worth stopping by for a...
