there’s one person in the restaurant and no cars in drive through. do i need to explain any further? oh and the food took 40 minutes
——- this is from another day. Today after work me and mum went to mcdonald’s to grab some food. this is a regular thing we do since we eat nothing all day and only get home from work at about 9pm to 10pm. Every single time we have been in it’s always been awful. the customer service is terrible and the wait is too. We aren’t the type to complain or be a Karen so i’m saying this with true disgust. we both worked in retail before with a big franchise (starbucks) so we understand stress and always try to understand them. But this is just too much. it’s a regular thing now. the day shifters are great but night shifters are awful. It’s always such a mess. the food takes from 30-1hour to get to you. and the customer service is terrible. today we went to the drive through and waited 5minutes to get someone to ask for our order. I am reciting the exact experience, not twisting it i promise you. She says “what do u want” so we said we’d like a chicken nugget meal. she ignores us, never asking what drink or how many or anything at all. just nothing. so we say can we have diet coke. she says “ye” then we say. “okay that’s it” and then again nothing. no is that all or drive through. we drove to the window and she said the price was £5.69. i had earlier gotten a tip from work of £6. i know it was £6 because the women even told me when she handed it to me and we counted twise before giving it to the women at mcdonald’s. Once we gave it her we told her to keep the change and we drove to the next window to see she had come to the lady giving us the food and said loud enough for us to hear “don’t give them the food they’ve only payed £5. We said we were certain we had given it all but she wouldn’t budge and refused to give us our food. We said fine we’ll pay but she said she’ll have to take the card from us. so she made us give the card which is a huge risk and shouldn’t be aloud. what if she charged more than we were supposed to get charge for? what if she took it? she gave it backabck which a rude face. we later checked to make sure she didn’t take too much out. she took out 90p!!!! that’s it. even though we were 100% sure we gave more than asked before. if this were me i would have ignored it for only being 90p. she had extremely short hair and was really really large (respectfully) mcdonald’s SORT....
Read morelol they should rename the drive through to the “park through” for this McDonald’s. Always trying to catch up with orders but you see the Mcdelivery guys walking in and out. No problem. I’ve had 3 customer care vouchers raised for this location due to incorrect orders, missing items or 20+ minute wait.
Do yourself a favour and drive 10 mins to the Asda McDonald’s. You’ll get served faster and won’t have to wait, your food will be hot too.
Update 1 feb 2023 ** Parking in drive through for 15-20 mins for just a single burger is still a thing. Visited a few days ago to see if it’s still the same experience.
Ordered via just eat this morning to see if delivery companies are genuinely given priority here. Ordered at 10:27 arrived at 10:34 and this was several items. I guess they make more money from those types of orders. 7 mins including the journey? Sickening.
** Update 16th dec 2024 Still making mistakes, missing items from drive through orders. I ordered 2 x breakfast meals. Got a bag with a pancake and no sausage, missing syrup. The other order was missing entirely, no McMuffin, no hash brown, no orange juice. Had to go in with the receipt and they came back with half the order and then I had to ask agakn for the syrup. Somehow ended up with hash brown bites I didn’t order.
I have also had extra random items thrown in a bag sometimes. I think the staff have probably checked out long ago and are just collecting a wage for minimal effort.
If you ask for a breakfast role meal at this branch they say they don’t do them anymore. Despite it being available to order on the app. When paying at the drive through they’ve decided to stop using the extended tap and pay stick and would rather watch you open your car door to lean over to the chip and pin machine attached to the side of the building. Maybe they spend meetings together trying to figure out how they can piss customers...
Read moreIt's a veritable scale of overpriced plastascene service that teeters between just bearable and terrible.
On a good day you receive what you have ordered without mistakes and it's relatively unremarkable and without issue.
On a off day there's missing items, you might not even recieve your order at all and resort to getting a refund, the ordering machines rarely work and there's nearly never a receipt printed.
It seems chronically understaffed like most companies nowadays and the atmosphere is akin to walking through a drug deal hot spot crossed with a late night teen crime and loitering hot spot before you even enter the Macdonalds.
honestly it's rarely worth the trouble to go and buy MacDonalds the foods toxic and unpleasant the teens crowd the entrance in their best low hanging black Nike sweats tossing about their chav angst attitudes in a futile attempt to illicit fear whilst the reality they're just undisciplined kids, scared teens with little better to do than loiter smoke and cause trouble for all passers by I'd blame it on a lack of options if there wasn't a inspire youth activity centre just across the road from the Macdonald by the bustop .
It's rare to not see a security guard doing his best armed busy impression at the door way in the hopes to intimidate the local misbehaving youths into a docile state and on Saturdays and Sundays their there to ensure the drunks don't cause trouble I suppose, all in all it's just a hostile and unpleasant experience through and through but hey what other places are open 24hrs right.
I'd recommend it only at early hours when no one else is in and you're absolutely starving as otherwise there are better options out there that are cheaper and less crowded, plus quite frankly no one wants to be surrounded by a bunch of hyper rude and bothersome cig addled miscreants while they eat I'm 24 and I'd sooner gag on battery acid and chew on glass than spend anymore than 20 seconds around that...
