Hung Fung — Restaurant in City of Edinburgh

DO NOT ORDER. Found wood and metal in noodles. Read on - Hung Fung takeaway was absolutely disgusting. I am not the type of person to complain but I have never had such a horrible take away experience. The order was wrong, the chowmein had no soy sauce it had oyster sauce which I did not ask for the prawn toast cost £4.00 and was genuinely one small piece of brown bread fried with burnt peas inside.. but reasonably tasty. I called back to change the order as basically a chow mein and prawn toast and small can of juice cost me £14 I couldn't believe the price for the quantity and quality. I called back the woman shouted down the phone and was so rude never apologised. Refused refund but I finally convinced her to deliver another chow mein at least and it was even worse and she shouted at me at my door. The meat was grey and the sauce was the same it was basically chicken stock very slimey. I had to remove all the meat and try to then sit down and eat it cold, really put off and stressed.. and that is when I found a centemeter size piece of WOOD with METAL/plastic wrapper/packaging attached to it inside the chow mein noodles. One of my regulars and one of the best in the area. I particularly like the chow mein dishes and the BBQ sauce available with them. Beef in black bean sauce is also very good, spicier than some with the fresh green chilies but I like that. The beef is generally quite tender, some variability but never tough. The curry is good but on the sweet side for my taste. Portion sizes are medium, totally acceptable but not massive. I noticed you can save some money ordering directly from their website which worked just as well as the usual apps. Delivery is consistently on-estimate. Special curry, egg fried rice, prawn toast, Singapore fried rice ordered through JustEat on a Monday. Special gravy more like, barely any resemblance to a curry, very tasteless/bland. Prawn toast borderline incinerated. Singapore fried rice tasted very Tabasco sauce like in flavour, a lazy way to spice things up and nothing like any Singapore/Yung Chow rice I’ve ever had.
