A wide variety of food and drinks. Amazing breakfast spread. Find different menu during lunch time, along with many salad options to choose from.
I love their Mocha coffee. Wonderful place to work, helping me in working my dissertation. Visit anytime and you will find a place. Huge space to sit, and has a library cafe feel to it.
Don't forget to pay using Upay Chill. With this payment mechanism, you can save 20 percent on the menu price and at the same time earn points. The more you drink and eat, the more freebies.
Not to forget, they also serve beer and wine. Depending on the mood they serve everything.
The staff is amazing, smiling and courteous. Just sit at your place with the food and once the food is done, a staff member will come and clean the table.
The only thing which is annoying is the toilet. I don't understand why they have lock only at the men's toilet. It might be difficult for the first timers. Turn the nob left, press second and fourth button at the same time, press the third button, turn the nob to the right. Hurrah you can use the toilet now. For women it is quite easy, just push the door and you are there.
But an amazing place to sit, work, talk or just relax. University of Edinburgh is amazing in managing their entities. The best part about them is that they consider everything as a business or a start-up which need to each money.
Scottish entities are known for their business, and it is visible in every part of University. Amazing experience both for the user/customer and also for the staff. Anything run by University is amazing.
On the final note, I should be writing my dissertation, but then I realise I have to write...
Read moreIt is a great place to study or work, with fantastic interior design and very comfortable lounging and working spaces. But the food is over priced and not very good. The coffee is reasonable priced, but is not as good as other cafes. Much better food and drink can be found just up the street at Hollyrood Coffee Shop and for better prices, but they do not have the study space.
Personally, I wish the people in charge of Hollyrood Coffee Shop were put in charge of Levels. Then we would have the best of both worlds. But Levels is owned by the University of Edinburgh, so I am sure they contracted out the running of it to some larger entity that is doing a lukewarm job of running Levels at best. The staff are very polite and accommodating, but the ingredients that they use are clearly second rate to the cafe's around them.
The obvious solution: drink tea and eat pre packaged food at Levels. If you need coffee or food, stop at Hollyrood Coffee Shop, Hollyrood 9A, or...
Read moreThe staff is getting more and more rude. I do understand their are certain rules since we have a pandemic going on such as no more than 3 can sit together. However, if I wear my mask and stand a meter away from the couch and I discuss with my classmates about a group project I believe that should be fine, but the staff has very rude comments such as "You cannot hang around here, you must sit at your place."
In addition, if I order coffee food or anything else, once I finished they take it away and in 5 minutes they will be back at my table asking whether I am planning to buy anything else? If I do not I must leave... This happened to many people already.
It is a student coffee and people go there to study mostly not to eat out. I do agree we need to buy something but please do not chase us all the time to spend...
