If heaven were a hotel, it would be this place. I can't believe what an amazing building this is. We stayed in the rooms with the lofts, and they are gorgeous and very well appointed. Each room had a turntable a guitar and lots of nice little amenities (I used the hot water bottle to sooth an aching shoulder). The guitar has a tuner on it too. The mini bar area is very well stocked, and it is quite reasonable priced. They want you to have a beer, and they're not going to make you pay £10 per beer like some hotels. We also got a keg in the room for a little bit more money, and there are of course the famous shower beers. The decor is really cool too--all based around their funky art they use for the beers. Even if you are not a big beer person, it is a great place to stay, The restaurant downstairs has delicious food with really nice portion sizes, and the breakfasts were included with our room--full breakfasts right off the menu, not a sad hotel breakfast. I especially recommend the vegan breakfast. We also got a free welcome beer and a free beer for not requesting towel laundry, although housekeeping did come every day to make the beds. They are well staffed and have lots of chill, friendly people there to help you out. Even if you're not staying at the hotel, go there to hang out in the bar or for brunch. They also have a nice terrace and patio to sit outside. The hotel is just a 10 minute walk from the last stop on the 100 Airport Bus, and it's really close to all the downtown sights. We were able to walk to just about every attraction from there. Finally, I have to say that it's a nice and quiet hotel too. It's on a quiet street, and the walls are very thick, plus there's two doors between you and the hall. I slept great there. Definitely a nice place to stay for anyone wanting to...
Read moreGreat stay for my boyfriends birthday but sadly we were put in an accessible room to begin with which was clearly not comparable to all other rooms. I arrived on my own to check in and was let in room 10 minutes early to check in so I was able to put up decorations as a surprise. A birthday beer was left by staff which was a lovely gesture but the room was extremely disappointing compared to what I had seen in pictures. It was all on one floor with the majority of the room having a low ceiling which meant it was quite dark. The view was also just out to a car park as it was on the first floor and there was no kitchen area like other rooms. Just bed, bathroom and dresser. The bathroom was extremely disappointing and looked like one found in a hospital with a plastic white curtain and lots of metal bars and had no waterfall shower like stated on the website. I went to reception and asked why we were put in there since I hadn’t requested it and had paid the standard rate and I was told that there was no other rooms available even though I booked over two months prior. (It also said on the website there was still one room left to book that night) I was given a new room which was absolutely fantastic but felt that it put a taint on the experience after paying so much money. I’m still a little confused to why they charge the same price for a clearly lesser room as this is also not fair to those who actually need an accessible room and miss out on the same...
Read moreThis is a FANTASTIC hotel, but three times inflated prices during the fringe. £575 a night; must be more than The Ritz in London?
Staff were excellent and the room features and bar menu are ace, BUT our room was NOT cleaned for day two, and on the second morning we were woken (room 106) by a delivery truck at 0730AM on a Sunday morning was the only two gripes.
Loved the small details in the room. All the products on offer are almost double the price; conveniently placed. The shower room leaked across the floor and the ceiling is far too low. The top bunk bedroom is secluded - which is ace - but the glass balcony stops the air circulation and makes sleeping very stuffy.
Took my 13 year old son. His pull down sofa bed was like a trampoline.
Food and beer at the bar was excellent, although we noticed our food - as we ate there over 3 days - sat on the counter for a few minutes resulting in warm food rather than piping hot.
Staff were ace all round. Loved the hotel atrium.
I’d stay here again, but inflated prices should mean inflated services, and the shower, bed, change of linen and delivery truck made the £500 per night bill difficult to swallow. Booked over 6 months before …
Nice environmental touches, but in the shower room, made no difference if staff didn’t show up. Excellent location for train station, parking and the royal mile. Absolutely LOVED the rock paper scissors game with...
