It wasn’t as bad as 1 star.. but I feel I have to even out the average. I had been to a comedy club up the road twice and it was amazing, I was about to visit there again and thought I’d see what other comedy clubs were around. Googled it and this came up with impeccable reviews so was really excited as I assumed this was going to be even better… It was ok… ish … maybe if I hadn’t have had the bar of my expectations set so high by the other comedy club up the road I wouldn’t have been so tempted to leave half way through… but I was .. by the end I was checking my phone willing it to end soon. Felt like quite a forced and pushy performance..
I was really confused as to why this was so much worse than the other club when it had better reviews… until the end of the show, when the host told us all to get our phones out and walked us through the process of leaving a review, being super pushy to leave a 5 star review… anyone who didn’t get their phone out was picked out and harassed to leave a review!! This is why I’m giving 1 star.
I was really excited to see a great comedy show on my last night in town and instead of visiting the place that was absolutely amazing, I was drawn into here by the 600+ 5 star reviews !! I was sorely disappointed by the show and gutted that I missed out on going to the other comedy club.
They claim to be the “best comedy club in Edinburgh” because of their 100% 5 star reviews… they bully and bribe for those reviews (free ticket next time you come, in exchange for a 5 star review).. I don’t think I’d come to another show it if was...

Tickets booked (last minute as usual cause that’s how we roll lol), we headed down to the Cannon Gait pub and despite not knowing what to expect, we had the best comedy night ever.
Michael has a unique brand of humour that the whole crowd loved. I’m always avoiding the front couple of rows at comedy nights for obvious reasons, but we lapped this up as did the rest of crowd, with a great blend of comedy that the whole crowd interacted with.
Michael was also a great host and the other comedians he included in the set were fantastic too. All a bit different but totally hilarious.
We left with smiles on our faces and our sides still hurting. Couldn’t ask for more and great value for money too.
If you’re in Edinburgh you should definitely book Michael’s show. You...
