McDonald's — Restaurant in City of Edinburgh

PLASTIC SHEET /GREASPROOF PAPER IN MY SONS BURGER.!! I visited the drive through a few weeks back. Naturally they forgot to put something in the bag so had to go into the restaurant. Returned to my car to find my son pulling apart his food to show me the plastic sheet in his burger. Went back into the restaurant again, dumped the burger on the counter, a few annoyed words later, the lad gave me another burger. I complained to McDonald's online and they offered me a £5 food voucher (which I thought was insulting and declined) but did not address my concerns about plastic being in the food. They said they could not investigate because I did not have a picture ?? I called the branch and apparently they new nothing about the complaint. To cut a long story short I would not trust the food in this McDonalds or any McDonalds for that matter as I don't think McDonalds actually care that there was plastic in my sons food. McDonalds has become something very different to what it once was. Its no longer "fast food" that's for sure, whether your at the counter or the drive through, constantly missing items in order, now very expensive for what it is. McDonalds portrays itself as a happy family friendly place but I think this is now very far from the truth considering the way I have been treated and the lack of care they have when being told about plastic being in...

We come here to the drive thru every Friday after my sons swimming class as it's on the route home. For the past year we have been asked to wait in a parking space for our food every single time. About 6 - 8 times we have had food missing. Especially apple pies which I have to check now when they are missing i have to park up and wait in the queue inside to get them. I am never offered a voucher like they do at Duloch. The wait in the parking bays ranges from 15 to 45 mins so I would question the description as fast food. If it's busy I would expect a wait but this mcds is never that busy. We started ordering on the app to see if that made a difference. Today I turned up to the empty drive thru with a handful of people in the restaurant. I waited 2 minutes for the guy on the intercom to speak and take our app order code. I went straight to the 2nd window and no one talked to me for 5 mins. The lady gave us the drinks and asked us to park up as they are waiting on chips? At 7.30 on a Friday night! Why are they not continuously cooking chips. We waited another 15 mins in a parking space and finished our drinks. Atmosphere is what it is, a fast food joint. Not much to be expected. Certainly kept clean enough most of the time. Staff are very friendly when chatting or being served but tend to ignore you when you're at the counter and have to shout over to get someone's attention but always very apologetic. I think they assume anyone near the counter is waiting for their order though. Not to take away from as I said very friendly, helpful smiley despite being busy or under pressure. Keep their cool and seem to thrive in it and always happy to help. Some of the staff stand out as exceptional customer service provider's and that should be noted. Service always with a smile. The food is good. Hot and fresh. Never had any issues. Kudos to the chefs 👍 . Asset to the mcdonalds chain and a far cry from the awful stories you hear about makes this mcdonalds head n shoulders above other branches. Give em a wee Christmas bonus 😉
