Been reading about the place online for a while before it opened and a few locals at work had asked me about it.
Just read yesterday that it had opened a few days ago so naturally I'd try it on my day off since I live nearby.
Great place, people are very friendly, food was amazing.
We got the mix grill for 2 (or for one hungry Greek god as it says on the menu).
Souvlaki, both pork and chicken were really good. The meat was tender and so full of taste.
The gyros too. Haven't had such good pork gyros in Edinburgh, and I've been to all the Greek places. Not saying that the other places are bad, just that this one tasted better.
Sausage was good, I just don't prefer it that much.
Chips (fries) were crunchy and tasteful, as they give it a nice mix of spices. Pitas were really nice.
Salad was good too.
As for the Greeks that find it expensive, their prices were everywhere to be found, online, outside of the restaurant.
I had read the menu the night before and knew about the prices. If you expect to pay less than that for this quality, go to other places.
If you expect Greek prices, go to Greece.
9 pounds for a good wrap, is not that bad for the UK. Cause this is good quality gyros. There were 2 ladies eating next to us that were talking about the prices, saying that they're really good for lunch.
I've tried wraps both in Glasgow and Edinburgh, this was by far the best gyros you can get.
Next time I'll try the calamari.
All in all, you definitely have to try the place.
Ps: sorry that I don't have any photos, we just dived into the food and never even thought about taking some....
Read moreTrip day to see parents ends with THE MOST GREEK AUTHENTIC TASTE!!! I start driving 07:00 from London to visit parents in Newcastle Upon Tyne, after few hours i arrive and take my parents out for the day and take them to Edinburgh just to enjoy life and get out with them. After few hours we like to eat something Greek (we are from Greece) and we find this amazing cozy shop. Looks very nice from outside the prices is good so we decide to try it, we order 3 wraps chicken gyros, but gyros finish and they suggest with skewers. We decide to get our food to eat on the car on the way back... The Biggeessssstttt mistake We start eating and we feel like we eating straight from Greek shop in Athens, the taste was amazing, you can feel all the flavours, the meat cooked perfect, the pita fluffy and perfect, we start think to go back to get more. One of the best wraps we have long time now. Well done worth the driving, you must...
Read moreTo be honest I feel a bit ripped off. No veggie wrap cause no vegetables?? (Put a sign in the window, I waited half an hour), compromised with a halumi wrap but was charged for a veggie wrap (although no grilled veg) + halumi on top? (Worth a fiver perhaps) i think you might have knocked 50p off? As a local, I so wanted to big up this new business. It's popular as hell which is fantastic, but this is not how you treat people with different dietary requirements and would find it hard to recommend- change my mind!
*£9.50 for a wrap with halumi is not in any way good value, and the wait to just find out that veg had ran out was not acceptable and unavoidable. I reserve the right as a customer to respond to service as I feel is right & your criticism in this respect is odd and...
