Great food, friendly service. We had a good meal, everything served hot and fresh, all was delicious. The service was very efficient. My only disappointment was that despite reserving the table 3 months in advance, we were seated at a table in the middle of the main walkway (and when we asked for a table by the wall, we were told it was going to be made into a large table for a bigger party). I understand that they may not be able to seat everyone by choice, but it was a shame. Especially as there is another branch a couple of shops further up the street, and as we walked past it afterwards, there were plenty of tables in less busy spots (so they could have suggested we switch to that restaurant). I’m so happy I went here, easily the best meal I had in Edinburgh. When I realised that their location next door needed a reservation, I was relieved to know this option was available next door! I got there 5 minutes before they opened and there was a small line of people waiting, but as soon as they opened everyone was seated. The red haired waitress who helped me was very kind and answered my questions. I loved that they had Kombucha on the menu, it was very high quality. Authentic Scottish Food, but Disappointing Service. I used to always recommend this place to anyone visiting me in Edinburgh. As a local, I was proud to introduce this restaurant. However, my experience yesterday was the worst in terms of service. I’ve noticed that this place does a lot of social media marketing, attracting many Asian visitors. While the staff insist there is no racism, I have personally witnessed clear differences in how they treat Asian customers compared to White customers.
