Bakeoffee — Restaurant in Colchester

What a joke, I work 5 mins from this cafe so I decided to give it a try been there once before, food is decent nothing wrong with it, but the service is dog. I ordered a breakfast and was told to sit down and “it will come shortly”, waited 30mins+patiently and then I asked the staff if my food is coming. I was told it hasn’t even started cooking and that’s it’s buffet day so all food is delayed which nobody informed me or had anything telling me that it would be 30+ mins before they start cooking the food!, I’ve literally had nothing to eat all day and now I’ve got to go work and finish my day with an empty stomach, I didn’t even receive my REFUND for anything because it would of took another 5-10 mins to process and at this point my break was nearly finished so I’d let them keep the money for the great service I received. Emma and her team at Bakeoffee did the catering for our wedding and it was absolutely fantastic! We asked for a completely vegan buffet to feed 75 people which we were expecting to be a challenge but Emma took it all in her stride to provide a complete range of items which were all so delicious and went down a treat with the guests who didn't realise it was all vegan! Visited BakeOffe last week, hoping it had improved after a decline in quality. Unfortunately, it was worse. The owner rudely dismissed a young staff member struggling with her mental health, showing zero empathy. The owner then took my order with an unfriendly attitude. My muffin, wrapped in excessive clingfilm, tasted like plastic—an issue friends have also noticed.
