Brunch — Restaurant in Colchester

Seriously disappointing, rude and sarcastic. I stoped by quickly just to write the address on the envelope as outside was pretty windy, I used inside seats. The place was free from customers dining in. Few minutes later came the woman blond hair asking if I’m waiting for order, which I said no. Then I’ve been told that I shouldn’t be sitting in as the place is not for public to come and sit in. Then i responded to her that I just sat here quickly write the address on envelopes. But I’ve been told that I should have been more polite and at least come and ask if I can sit down or order a coffee. Which then I said that if I can’t sit here for 5 min (having in mind that there wasn’t one customer sitting in otherwise I would not have sat in and take the place for others) that’s fine I’ll leave. But been told that she will ALLOW me to stay this time but out of politeness I could have at least order something and reminding me that the seats aren’t for public to come and do paper work!!! After being told off I looked around if there was any signs anywhere that would indicate that seats are only for customers and apparently there was no sign indicating anything like that. Which I find actually super rude for someone to come and tell you off even if it’s with the sarcastic smile on their face… the staff like that definitely need some training on customer service. As they can loose customers before even getting them. When at first when I walked in I thought would be nice to try it out something from here as I’m new in Colchester and like exploring places to eat… but with customer service at this level… I’m surely not coming anywhere close by this place and surely will spread the word about what an incompetent people...

We ordered food from here for our Christmas Dance Party buffet. A selection of sandwiches with Christmas flavours, sausage rolls, scotch eggs, dips and veggie sticks and quiche. We have a few people in the group with food allergies as well as sensitive to gluten, vegetarian and vegan . Brunch offered options for everyone! Not just “something to eat” but rather a good selection for everyone to have a nice meal. All the trays and packs were perfectly labelled and the food was delivered on time as agreed. The attendees of the party came out of their way to let me know that they enjoyed the food. I will happily recommend for your event. Making an order is pretty straightforward and you can get good advice and help from the team about what to orded. They also let me know if I was ordering too much for the amount of people.

Walked in to order food - found 4 staff behind the till all busy doing stuff except for one bloke on his phone. No one looked up or said anything to me, no one acknowledged me. One staff walked straight past me without making eye contact. Finally after 5 mins, someone says 'I won't be a moment'....I continue waiting whilst one bloke behind the till just stands there on his phone. In the end I get fed up and go get my lunch from Feast where they provide decent customer service and at least say hello when you walk through the door. To the Brunch staff - I think you need some training in...
