Carluccio's — Restaurant in Colchester

We recently visited Caluccio’s as a family—my wife, our younger son, and I—and had a lovely dining experience. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, perfect for a relaxed family meal. We tried a variety of dishes, and everything was delicious.

The Italian pasta was rich and full of flavor, the burger was juicy and well-prepared, and the salmon was beautifully cooked and seasoned. Each dish felt thoughtfully made and nicely presented.

The service was friendly and attentive, and we left feeling very satisfied. That said, it’s worth noting that it can be quite difficult to get a booking here, especially in the evenings. I’ve tried on several occasions and found no availability, which can be frustrating. It would be great if the restaurant could improve accessibility or expand evening availability to accommodate more guests.

Overall, though, it’s a fantastic spot for quality Italian food, and we’ll definitely be back—when we can...

Pleasantly surprised! There are a number of places to eat in Colchester so making a choice of where to go for lunch isn't easy. We decided to try Carluccio's as we hadn't been there in such a long time and as it's in Fenwicks, a little mooch around afterwards wouldn't hurt. Ambiance is nice, modern and clean with a range of places to sit depending on your party - we sat right next to the big windows which overlook a small part of the town. Our server was great - attentive, genuinely nice and efficient. Overall, the menu is great. There's variety which is key, so choosing isn't always the easiest. My party decided to go for a variety of smaller plates with sides and salads. The picture below is of the focaccia with burrata and n'duja - stunning! Also, being a little fancy, we tried a few of their mocktails - a perfect lunchtime aperitif. Definitely will pop back as the breakfast menu and selection of sweet...

Visited on Monday 15 th may 2017 Food was ok but nothing special Waitress that served us were very off hand Offered Parmesan but was never given it Waitress insisted on placing menus on the part of the table where my arm was making me have to move them to somewhere more suitable hence no tip given Realised approx 30 min after leaving that we had left a small bag under the table ,on return to the restaurant it was not under the table, one member of staff said no one else had used the table after us,they did look in a cupboard but nothing found!!! I don't believe them ,I bet they have thrown it in the bin !! Will never use that...
