Chinese Kitchen — Restaurant in Coventry

Been ordering by from here for a long time never had an issue until now. Delivery driver made things very difficult when I was directing her to my car park as she dont know her right from her left however this ain’t the main issue, I ordered Peking duck and expected something different and it looks and taste exactly the same as their Hong Kong style which states it’s a sweet and sour dish on there menu and they fail to state this under the Peking duck, I rang and complained I’m not happy with it as if I would have known it taste exactly same as their Hong Kong style I would not have ordered it, the amount of money I have gave this takeaway and all I got back on the phone was excuses was not how I expected for the issue to be resolved especially a customer that orders from this place one to three times per week, all they had to say was we can come collect it and I can change it for something else however that’s not what they wanted to say well done Chinese kitchen you have lost a great customer I hope it was worth the hundreds of pounds you get from...

I was down in Coventry for the weekend and was told this was the best Chinese place in the area so I thought I’d give it a try. I ordered online and had to collect as they didn’t deliver to my hotel. It was a 13 minute drive to the restaurant and when I arrived my food was ready there wasn’t much customer service but as they were busy I thought nothing of it. When I arrived back at my hotel 13 mins later the food was freezing! I was starving and didn’t have a microwave and had spent over £40 so tucked in. My family thought it tasted stale especially the chilli beef and the king prawns which were so tuff and chewy it was hard to eat, and decided not to eat the food. I persevered and ate it, what a big mistake!!! 9 am the next morning food poisoning kicked in and I threw up for 3 days!!! I even spent several hours in A&E due to passing out from becoming dehydrated from not eating and throwing up for 3 days! I would never go...

This place was lovely, but i believe it has changed ownership recently. It is now very dirty which is plain too see for the general public, the seating area has sliding doors on the bottom which are flithy dirty, the plug sockets have atleast a half inch of grime on them. The serving hatch has a glass cabinet which the ducks are kept, this is thick with grime and have not been cleaned for a long time, this also blocks your view of the chefs cooking your meal and also hides how clean/dirty the cooking area is. The public toilets smell of stale urine and are dirty. As we all know hygeine is a must for cooking food and storage and i hope they do clean it up after this review hits them and the Coventry Council pay them a visit.
