Ordered a toasted cheese and onion sandwich with chips for lunch. It was the only sandwich on the lunch menu and I really just wanted a sandwich. It arrived and it wasn't a sandwich it was a cia batta. I asked to see the menu to see if I had seen it wrong. The lady came over and I explained I don't like ciabatta and really wanted a sandwich. She went to the kitchen and came back stating that it does say sandwich but they always use ciabatta. I was offered a toastie as a sandwich. It came and was ok. I will not be going back a very limited lunch menu if you just want a small...
Read moreMe and my family visited the Royal Oak last Sunday, and had a very pleasant experience. It was reasonably busy, but the staff were very friendly and welcoming. We were seated quickly and promptly ordered 5 roast dinners, including a vegetarian option. The food arrived surprisingly quickly and was served very hot on warm plates ( my bug bear getting warm food on cold plates!!) The beef was very tender and tasty, the potatoes delicious, yorkies fantastic and lots of freshly cooked vegetables. More than enough food!!! We all ate to our content and enjoyed it thoroughly. We will definitely be back and good to see a local privately owned pub doing really good food at a good price with...

Staff are friendly welcoming and to be fair a little apologetic as it currently seems to be new owners and a work in progress, may be one to watch when they have a kitchen, but a little on the pricey side for...
