Absolutely abysmal customer service. Myself and my mum went to the restaurant to meet with family who had come a long way from Yorkshire for the purpose of a funeral, and were staying in this hotel. We decided to meet with them the night before the funeral, so chose this restaurant as they were staying in this hotel. We were seated, it was not busy, it was a Thursday night, and we ordered drinks, only half of these came, we had to chase for the rest of the drinks, this took roughly a further 15 to 20 minutes. With the waitress blaming somebody else. She took our orders and it was made clear we were ordering starters and mains. We waited a long time for the starter, then when it came they brought the starters and the mains at the same time!. We told them this wasn't acceptable because the whole point of a starter was to have before the meal and then a break then eat your main meal. They subsequently took the mains away and returned with them again a few minutes later saying there was nothing they could do. And they placed the mains down on the table next to us leaving them to go cold whilst we ate our starters. We asked a server for some ketchup and by the time she bothered to bring it I had eaten my meal so it was pointless, when I said to her it was too late now she blamed somebody else saying she "told them to bring it". My mum ordered pork schnitzel for her main and it never actually arrived, however we noticed her main dish just sat on the side on a servers station behind the table we were sat at. So my mum ended up going hungry because she actually never ordered any starter for herself!. They left the pork schnitzel there for over half an hour. We complained about this to them, especially given the circumstances why we were there, and they offered free desserts. To which we said we did not want any dessert as we did not want to stay there any longer. They then agreed to halve the bill, although I would not even say it was worth that. Der junge Kellner, der uns bedient hat, war sehr freundlich. Das war das einzig Positive. Alles dauert sehr lange. Wir hatten letztendlich nur Getränke und ein Hauptgericht und waren dafür nicht freiwillig über 1 1/2 Stunden dort. Nachdem wir endlich unsere Bestellung aufgeben konnten, hat es eine halbe Stunde gedauert, bis mir mitgeteilt wurde, dass sowohl meine erste Wahl, der Geflügelburger, als auch die Alternative, das Braised Brisket, nicht vorrätig waren. Ich habe also das Gemüsecurry gewählt. Das war matschig und fade, da waren gar keine Kräuter oder Gewürze zu erkennen, außerdem hat das Poppadom gefehlt. Die Kaffeetassen für den Milchkaffee waren gerade mal halb gefüllt. Es gab weder Merlot noch Pinot Grigio, deshalb habe ich einen Elderflower Spritz für 9£ gewählt. Der wurde mit vertrockneter Minze und vergammelter, bereits ausgepresster Limette serviert.
