Visited here for an evening meal after seeing all the reviews for the homemade steak pie and the food in general. THEY ARE NOT WRONG!!!! Wasn't going to have the pie to start with, as we'd had steak pie the night before, but after the Hunters chicken and the burger were unavailable....we chose to get the pie and we're so glad we did. It certainly didn't disappoint! I had fresh veg and skin on chips, with a side dish of onion fries. Hubby had skin on chips and mushy peas. We wanted more it was that good!! The atmosphere is very warm and welcoming and staff couldn't do enough! Lovely little pub bursting with friendly staff and food you don't want to miss!!! Side note: go early before the pie runs out!!!

We had a lovely meal here a couple of days ago! The very friendly staff managed to fit our large group in (8 adults plus a high chair) with no bother. The menu has great variety and all of the food was really delicious and plentiful! We’re proper foodies and so weren’t sure what to expect, but everything we ordered (pies, chilli, fish and chips, hunters chicken and puddings) was really top notch.

I’ve been to many a pub in my time, but let me tell you about The Church Inn. It has the cosiest, homiest vibe I’ve ever experienced. The staff are some of the friendliest I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. And the food… OH MY GOD the food. I’ve never had such an amazing dining experience in my life. If you’re ever in this area, you would be doing yourself a disservice not visiting this pub!

Had Sunday lunch with family. Absolutely delicious! All home cooked, amazing Yorkshire puddings and hubby said the gravy was the best he's ever had (apart from his own lol). The pub itself is olde world charm so don't expect a modern interior. It's fully of original features. Added bonus of seeing the steam train go past. Nothing was too much trouble. Asked for extra gravy and got a huge boatful that was plenty for all four of us. We would definitely go again. Extremely reasonable on price too, especially...

Nice exterior of an old Derbyshire Public House. Once inside the pub was fairly typical of what you'd expect from a pub of this era. The real ale selection was small but well kept. I ordered a pint and paid with hard cash, which nowadays is a rare thing. Once I got my pint I made my way across the quiet road over to the picnic benches and savoured the pleasant surroundings. All in all I liked it here and would go again, but I won't be in the area for the...
