Absolutely fantastic. I'm lactose intolerant and so is the lady who served me. So she totally understood my issues. Dairy free cheese, dairy free ice cream, dairy free milk alternatives. Coffee was great and my wife loved the tea! And the dairy free raspberry ice cream... Get involved! Absolutely lovely little cafe and lovely staff. Outside seating is by the main road but it wasn't frustrating at all. If you have any dietary requirements, this is the place to go. They will look after you!

The Wife and I stopped here for a rest between Solihull and Matlock. We had iced coffees and bacon, brie & cranberry paninis. There were delicious and reasonably priced. So good in fact, that we stopped here again on the way back! The wife now asking about the next trip and no doubt we'll try to stop here again. We sat outside as it was so nice, but inside looked nice also. Staff were lovely and pleasant also.

Nice little cafe in the centre of Ashbourne, just off the market place (pay & display car park) Vegan & GF options on the menu for those so inclined Food has always been good and service is friendly & efficient Indoor seating available as well as a few tables outside. Seems popular with cyclists Worth a visit if your in town.

Nothing like it used to be. Some of the staff are trying hard, the chef is sloppy especially as the cooking is on show. Long wait for food .Quiche options sounds great but twice warmed in microwave just killed it. Salad uninspiring, not love in this food. Salmon best bit of salmon and prawn salad, prawns multi packed defrosted and bland. Sauce to help pured from wholesale bottle. Bread standard mass produced, boring and sad shame not little more rustic when bread types are so on trend today, even if bought from amazing bakery up the road. After waiting and hoping to also buy cake and coffee after, decided to quit early and leave fair bit of food uneaten. Think you are trying to do too much, stick with cooked breakfast and not salads, of just tea and good cake. From the team of staff we saw today more than half look like theyth rather not be there. It is a tiny kitchen admittedly but appearance of premises is a million miles away from what is experienced. Spoilt a stop over in ashbourne for a birthday lunch en route home after a great week in the peaks. Shall not call in again. Disappointing, hope the owners can make changes big enough to...

Experience seems to reflect some of the other reviews written here... I rarely write a bad review but I was particularly disappointed. Service was very slow and they got a couple of things wrong on the order.

The jacket potatoe with chilli was raw in some places once I'd began eating it! I asked for it to be changed to cheese instead. Unfortunately the staff didn't seem bothered or overly concerned, even saying that I'd ordered it incorrectly to begin with (they bought me cheese originally incorrectly). Of course I didn't want a replacement chilli one when the one I'd just received was raw.

The one member of staff had asked a few customers twice if they'd paid after they'd already ordered and paid with her. This was obviously frustrating to paying customers who had been waiting a long time for their orders.

We were very underwhelmed and quite concerned that the staff didn't seem bothered about bad service or undercooked food unfortunately....

Been coming to the Flower Cafe since it opened and always thought it was good value for money with friendly staff. I rarely leave reviews unless quality and service is exceptional or otherwise, unfortunately this was otherwise. I ordered the breakfast oatcake with baked beans, I could have counted the beans, there was maybe a tablespoon full at most and these were luke warm. Now I couldn't really care less about beans as such, my disappointment is twofold, firstly this is not value for money and smacks of stinginess but more disappointing was the attitude of the cook/owner??..... who told me that nobody had ever said they did not have enough beans, then presented me with a saucer of luke warm beans telling me to pay 50p at the counter.

I sound like a moany pedant, I'm not. This was just poor quality and even poorer customer...
