Sorry, I am very rarely a complainer, but here goes. Place looks lovely, came in and spoke to a member of staff who asked me to sit and they would come over. After 20 mins plus, still no one. Had to shout to attract staff attention as they were GOOD at avoiding eye contact. Then told I should order at the counter. Ordered a breakfast, which is quite pricey at 12.50 but promised quality components, which they were. Its shame that the sausages were barely brown and stone cold, bacon was tough, dry and stone cold, grilled tomato was ICE cold in the middle, and the mushroom, despite normally being a slimy thing was like warm and dry as cardboard. I like my food and NEVER leave much, but in this case half the meal was left uneaten. As I write, STILL waiting for someone to come to the table so I can advise them of my issues, but I give up. Will have to grab someone!! Metaphorically I add quickly. What a shame.

I visited on a Monday, I can only assume it was the normal chef's day off because this was without a doubt the worst food I have ever been served. It was nowhere near a professional standard of cooking. Everything was overcooked to the point of being bone dry. The attempt at garlic aioli (photo, that's really how it came out of the kitchen) was shocking. I think it was garlic butter mixed with mayo. The food was very expensive given the quality, and the portion sizes for all three meals were pathetic, I ordered the special which cost £12, it came with two tiny fish finger size pieces of chicken and a few chips. The staff didn't ask how our meal was, or bother to clear the table, I'm pretty sure they were too ashamed. The place looks nice though and was surprisingly busy.

We came in for an iced coffee and a pot of tea. The coffee and tea were very nice. This café only accepts card payment and it is table service only. Their menus are read by scanning a QR code on the table. The café also seems environmentally conscious, especially using paper straws. There is also free water. The toilet was clean. There was both a regular toilet and a disabled access toilet. The café was a nice place to sit in as the large windows on the front let in a lot of light. The prices are a bit expensive, but I would say that they are worth it.

Took a dear friend of mine to JR to find time to chat and catch up over a drink and lunch! I asked Ann to try here as I have always enjoyed my visits. My friend doesn't like mushrooms or egg's which narrowd her meal choice but we stayed as ann knew how much I was looking forward to my favourite wild mushrooms on toast! Anns bacon and sausage bap came out with mushrooms on it and my face dropped when I saw what I had been looking forward to so much! The staff member took anns meal and said it would be about 10 minutes to make a fresh one and it was explained that they wouldn't just take the mushrooms off! I said that we had come to eat together and didn't want to wait 10 minutes so asked to take my meal away too so that we could eat at the same time. When we did get our meals my meal looked greasy and Unappetising the bread tasted dry but had a greasy butter taste with it! The mushrooms tasted greasy too and would have looked better to be served with a steak! I ate 3 mushrooms and a small amount of toast and left the meal! Very very disappointed! Why try to mend something if it's not broken? The staff were very friendly and helpful . Will I...

Overall a very disappointing experience. We were a party of 4 meeting for lunch - there were a few tables seated when we arrived but wasn't very busy. After ordering we waited around half an hour for our food to arrive - after first seeing it be delivered to another table - and other tables seated after ourselves be served. The beef roll ordered should have come with horseradish mayo which was very sparse, the side of chips ordered had to be chased. The pastrami sandwich special was roast beef not pastrami, lettuce was missing and was very heavy handed on the mustard. Fish finger sandwich had very over cooked fish goujons and cold fries. Service was very poor & staff didn't seem to be very interested in being there. As payment was taken when order was made this meant very difficult to be able to make any complaint reference food, topped with the fact it was extrmeley difficult to get any staff members attention. Not usually one to leave a bad review, but felt needed to be done and will not be visiting again...

I dislike giving poor reviews, but I am being generous with the two stars to be honest. We were advised that it would be a 20-25 minute wait, but it was close to 1pm when we arrived and although not full, it was busy so we accepted that. After over 50 minutes & the table behind us being served first, despite being seated after us, I had to ask how long it would be & it was around another 10 minutes before the food came. The chips were nice & hot, the toasted cheese sandwich luke warm & the muffin with eggs benedict was very chewy, one poached egg was solid & barely warm & the other very under-cooked. It wasn't cheap - but what is these days? On the positive side, the staff were lovely, very apologetic & busy & we were given another drink while we waited. The venue is nice, clean & welcoming to dogs & kids. I can only presume they were under-staffed in the kitchen as there seemed to be plenty of front of house staff. A real pity but on our experience today I wouldn't recommend. Local regulars may have...
