Fantastic food, great choice for veggies and lovely staff. Highly recommended! Spicy Madras, Beckett Road, Doncaster. We visited Spicy Madras for the first time tonight with my Dad and husband and we were extremely impressed. The food was really delicious and the menu is fantastic, very different with lots of new things to try. They have a South Indian and Sri Lankan menu and was very similar to food I’ve eaten in India. As a vegetarian I was overwhelmed by choice. Don’t worry, there are still a few old favourites like Madras and Jalfrazi, but why not try something new alongside them? We had the veggie starter platter which was really big and more than enough for three. The paneer cheese and vegetable rolls were my favourite but it was a great opportunity to try some more other starters, which were equally nice. For mains we shared a Masala dosa- this is a giant, crispy pancake filled with spicy mash that comes with a few tasty sauces, a paneer chilli, and a paneer butter masala, two rice and onion naan. All were excellent. It came to £63 including two soft drinks and a bottle of wine. Great value between 3. We had enough leftovers for 1 person to take away too. The staff were lovely, very friendly and happy to explain the menu. They are obviously very proud of their food too. Everything is made from scratch, so don’t go if you are in too much of a rush. The place is quite small, it was very quiet tonight but might be worth booking on a weekend.

Utterly delicious Indian food with a few welcome twists from the norm. Tasty, good quality, vibrant and plentiful. Always served piping hot and with great service. Businesses like these deserve to succeed. Give them a try as they’re worthy of your support.

An absolutely super meal served with 1st class service. The staff helped me choose from their menu. I had a Chettinadu mutton curry (10/10), plain rice and garlic nan (10/10). The people were so friendly and helpful. I will be back for more..

For some time now, Doncaster has been missing a South Indian / Sri Lankan restaurant with the previous one at the same location closing a few years ago.

Location: Not the best but the street is quiet in the evening and parking is right by the front door in a lay by.

Inside: very clean, well spaced tables (and not too many of them), nice bar and service with a smile. Quick too.

Bar: Decent collection of wines, whisky and beer although with that spicy food, all you need really is a cold beer rather than an elaborate red.

Food: A range of South Indian food. Quite a few variations of the Masala Dosa, that evergreen favourite of an entire sub- continent. Lamb, prawn and chicken curries, kothu parathas both vegetarian and non vegetarian and a selection of biryanis all with that wonderful Madras spices.

Generally, a laid back easy meal in a restaurant that should not let you down.

Highly...

Accidentally crashed on this place on Uber eats and then a sudden urge of eating spicy food cam e into my mind and I will never regret my decision. Ordered Mutton biryani and Prawn Chilli, both the dishes were fabulous and delicious. Mutton biryani was mildly spicy and tasty and Prawn chilli lived up to its name. No altercation to the dishes to make them less spicy(bland) thats what touched my stomach. I have ordered from other Indian restaurants in Doncaster which use too much food color and tomato paste which makes the dishes look spicy, but they eventually end up being less tasty and bland. My sincere request to the restaurant, please please whatever happens don't change the taste of your dishes like other restaurants do. This is what the real taste of Indian food is and thats how it should be. Will surely try other...
