I have been coming here for breakfast almost three or more times a week for 6 months, the breakfasts are always of a good standard and usually sent out in a timely manner. The menu has recently had an updated price which I find absolutely ridiculous, you now charge extra for absolutely everything? In the last few days I had eggs Benedict with extra bacon and you charge £1.75 for one slice of bacon? This is unbelievable considering a pack of bacon is about £2. For 2 breakfasts with drinks ( you always allowed the speciality hot chocolate onto the added drink but now you don’t allow this? Even charging me full price for coffee with a syrup ) it was £50+ for this with 2 smoothies? Which cost £6.50 per smoothie even though supplier sells them at £1.45 each. Previously we could eat a good breakfast in here with 2 decent drinks for just shy of £30 ( still expensive for Doncaster but we always paid happily due to quality ) now I feel this rise in price doesn’t reflect the current state of people’s living standards, making the place feel pretentious and only about making more money. The average UK airport full English price is £13.50 in 2024, yet you are charging £16.45 in Doncaster, unbelievably ridiculous. We won’t be coming here anymore.

Absolutely stunning food, I had tuna and red onion jacket potato with a pot of prawns in the side, home made slaw and salad it was beautifull. My friends had the eggs benedict Wich looked amazing and she loved. My other friend order I meaty cheesy hot baguette, with chips and a cheesy onion garlic bread, which all looked fantastic. They have great options for vegans, vegatarians aswell. They have a beautiful selection of cakes and deserts. And a range of cold and hot drinks, including low calorie drinks aswell. I didn't order one of there milkshakes as I was on a diet, but the girl behind me did. It came in a hug hug with what I could only describe as, topped with a donut and cream, it looked amazing. I will be returning back there allot I think 🤣😍

We booked here for my eldest daughters birthday. We pre-booked afternoon tea! The staff were friendly. The atmosphere was great. I loved the presentation of the food, the flowers and glitter and cute little cups. My only criticisms are these - the only things savoury were the small sandwiches and taster of homemade soup (this was served in a cute tiny cup). The rest were desserts...which were all tasty apart from the scones. Yes, the scones were not liked by any of us, and I love a cream scone. There was too much cinnamon in them, which was a shame. My grandson tried a babychino..warmed frothy milk..so cute. It was a lovely experience but would not return for an afternoon tea. I would return to try other things on the menu!!

Overly garnished with little substance.

My friend and I visited The Glass Strawberry for lunch and were initially impressed by the look of the place — unfortunately, that’s where the positives ended.

I ordered the eggs benedict, which came with bacon instead of ham. The bacon and the muffin were overdone, and the Hollandaise sauce was lumpy and flavourless. After just two bites, I couldn’t eat any more. When I politely explained this to the staff, I was met with hostility rather than understanding. Instead of listening, they dismissed my concerns, blaming it on “my palate” — an incredibly unprofessional response.

I decided to leave it there and ordered a cream scone with a latte instead. However, when my friend later enquired about a refund for the difference, she was met with belligerence from the manager. Not only was the refund refused, but we were accused of “playing games” — a shocking and insulting way to treat paying customers.

It’s clear this establishment is not open to feedback and would rather blame customers than take responsibility for poor food quality and bad service. I’ve never encountered such obnoxious behaviour in a restaurant before, and it completely ruined what could have been an enjoyable lunch.

Truly disappointing — I would not...

Used to come loads with my parents and little boy but probably won't be coming again. We always enjoyed it but menu has apparently been revamped but not for the better. Seems to be making posher..didn't even have sausage sandwiches on the menu but had avocado on toast! My little boy biscoff pancakes which was nice, myself and my mum wanted something simple like toast but it's sourdough bread, no wholemeal toast or crumpets.... So mum settled for teacakes and myself a croissant, which I asked for it warming. Then food came for them to forget to bring my croissant and didn't warm it by this point I had enough so we rushed rest of what we had and left. Spent nearly 30 pound and was so not worth it, really a waste of my money could have gone to Greggs and got better..we have been customers since they was old restaurant ( four seasons) was lovely when done it out but getting more and more expensive and not getting much. Don't mind paying for quality if there is plenty to choose from . Only plus side is the staff is lovely which makes me writing this a shame.. unless the change the menu back , sadly won't...
