Having driven past hoops multiple times I finally decided to drop in for a late breakfast.
Inside I am unsure wether I'm in a cafe, a lunch spot or a odd bar mixed with a pub. The light house music in the background alongside the brightly light full bar, pool table and slot machine didn't scream out have a fry up here at first glance.
I walked in and asked for a menu and debated for a moment before deciding on a classic breakfast. Unfortunately I can't applaud the service from the man on the till, very cold, uninterested, did not ask how I would like my eggs and just presumed I wanted fried. The amount of food I got for value was not bad. It would of been nice to have more than one singular (presumably tinned) tomato alongside the smallest handful of chips (yes I get chips instead of hash browns). My experience with the waitress was a lot better, she was very friendly and asked if I needed any sauces or something else so shout out to her.
The food tasted good and no real issues on flavours as every item was as expected. I can't say I'm personally a fan of seeing the cheap ketchup in the bottle (chef's larder) it was in.
So all in all not a bad visit, unsure if I would return for food again but with the full stocked bar a pint and a game of pool would always be a option.
Pros: value for money on food, spacious, quick service from the kitchen, decent menu options
Cons: service from man taking order, confusing decor, portion size on chips, choice of music,...
Read moreEdit as decided for a second chance, somewhat redeemed themselves. Nights seemed quite busy so wanted to try again, food decent and affordable but staff could be more attentive…
Came with an open mind despite the previous reviews. Decent prices so gave it a try on a Sunday 11am. Place was freezing, was sooo cold. Upon arrival it was near empty, only 1 more table, and we ordered after maybe 15-20 mins when our friends arrived. 4 normal drinks arrived and only after 10 mins 2 milkshakes…i mean, could have all been brought out at the same time…oh well. The took forever for 4 breakfasts. Then about 5 minutes for a child’s 5th one. Another 10 i would say for a second child meal, and a good another 15 for an omelette. Everyone finished their meals by the time i had mines. And it was very very oily, chips were not great neither. Decent size, however. Just a bit disappointed really, looks like a fun place. With a staffing issue, I’d assume. Don’t feel tempted to return really, despite the low prices. By the time we left the place was heaving, not one...
