The Island House — Restaurant in Dudley

It's on the A 4168 priory road, heading to Wolverhampton or turning right at the lights heading to Birmingham buy lidl on the A 4123 . It's tucked away at least 5 meters from the main road kirb, but with plenty of room to park. Just make sure that your heading to Wolverhampton from Dudley too be on the write side of the road which will make parking easier and access, it's harder in opposite directions, due to the levels of traffic, but it does go quite in the evening "after 6 pm" coming from Wolverhampton . On entry to the premises, very well light with a very helpful staff and the premises are very clean with what they prepare on a 2 meter long light board by 600 mm wide showing everything they do and the price of the items they sell. Usually, this is in the evening after 5 pm there's a few customers in already waiting for their orders. Just come in "lovely and warm " ask politely if they customers you have met, who has order has been fulfilled . You wait for the customary acknowledge of yes or no. And depending upon which one you wait inline or place your order and wait. The quality of the food is good , with good portions depending upon what you have ordered. My overall experience of the premises and the staff and the product they sell brilliant, have to say there chips...

I am reviewing to express my disappointment and concern regarding the quality of food my son and I received from your establishment recently. My son visited your shop and ordered mixed chicken meat and chips for himself, as well as southern fried chicken and chips for me at a cost of £8.45.

However, when we arrived home and opened our meals, we were appalled by the state of the chips provided. They were rock-hard, stale, and overly crispy, clearly indicating they had been reheated multiple times.

As paying customers, we did not expect to receive food that was so unappetising and subpar. Had we not been in a rush to head out or had there not been temporary lights on Priory Road, I would have returned immediately to address this issue in person. It is completely unacceptable to serve food that is stale and clearly not freshly prepared. The majority have gone straight into the bin. Please see attached photos for reference.

This is our local chippy, we’ve had issues prior with food sizes but today was ridiculous. 2 kebabs in pita and lg bag of chips £18.45 . Kebabs were £6.75 each and were so tiny and thin, barely any meat in doner. We went back over to complain and was told oh it’s the new pitas , they’re small. When the manager came out he had full on attitude and was extremely rude. We asked for a refund for the whole meal so we can go elsewhere. He refused to refund the chips and continued to be rude. Fine that he didn’t refund chips but as it’s a meal as a good will gesture. The kebab in pita are extremely small but the manager thinks it’s fine to charge almost £7. Worst part for me is how rude the manager was, awful...
