So it is now 9pm Iāve had four single gin & tonics, not even remotely close to being drunk ! I got to The Wharf Stourbridge at around 5.45 to meet my husband and work colleagues ā¦.. because the tables were booked at 7.30 (but not booked when we arrived ) we were asked to move but the place was busy and there was no place really to move to so we continued to drink our drinks . We were then abused by someone that claimed to be the owner - who in fact only just worked there (they had booked the table) and a tall guy who asked my husband to take it ā outsideā š³ I did laugh at this point and call the bloke an āidiotā (maybe a bit worse - sorry I couldnāt help it) and then had his mother try to hit me and was dragged away. Apparently WE were obviously ādrunkā - I am now sitting quietly in a lovely pub called the Duke in Stourbridge drinking another gin & tonic and have no hassle and not close to drunk š - please only use The Wharf if you donāt mind having no hospitality provided by the team. I have lived in this area for 46 years and couldnāt remember why I had only been in this āpublicā house once - now I know why Enter...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe Wharf Inn has been on my radar for ages and we finally got here on a Friday night!
The place is always busy, but if youāre dining the tables are at such an angle that no one is sat on your lap! There are some cute tucked away corners and some large crafted tables!
Itās dog friendly, so always a winner for me!
Table service for diners and all the staff were so friendly and helpful. I love it when the staff dine at the restaurant they work in, itās an excellent sign!
The starters were huge, so if youāre aiming for three courses, the tiramisu canāt be missed, so choose wisely!
Prices were perfect for the quality, size and service!! Thereās nothing ācheapā here!
Our only reservation, is that Friday has a lot of drinkers with no soft furnishings, so the noise at 10pm was deafeningā¦. But, honestly, for me the younger one of the group, it was perfect!
Iāll be coming back...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe love the Old Wharf. Our experience was fantastic, as always. My wife and I (accompanied by our three week old daughter) were given a quiet table to allow us some peace and respite whilst we ate. The food was immaculate in both presentation and taste, and was served quickly with excellent service from all of the staff in the pub. I enjoyed the chicken schnitzel with capers, mash and purple headed broccoli, whilst my wife enjoyed the the spinach and ricotta ravioli. We finished with an affogato and salted honey tart, both of which perfectly complemented our lunch. The atmosphere was calm and relaxed, even though the pub was busy! In a few months time, well looked forward to dining in the brilliant garden in the sunshine with a slightly older child! Thank you to all of the lovely staff, who really could not do any more for us to make our experience...
