My friend and I arrived (both in our 50s) at the Plough and Harrow after a local afternoon walk with our respective 17 year old children and 3 dogs. Unfortunately the dogs were more welcome inside than the sensible and 'grown up' 17 year olds! Old enough to do plenty in society but not old enough to enter the Plough and Harrow! We were offered, as an alternative, 'outside' on a cold December late afternoon - they have 'heaters! Had a great afternoon/evening with some friends in the beer garden and the beer was OK, but that's the least to expect from a pub anyway. The inside of the pub had such an overwhelming smell of dried urine that it made my eyes water and I can be grateful for the fact I only had to go inside a few times. As far as eating a cob there all I can say is I wouldn't even risk a bag of crisps. All the loyal customers can rest assured that as long as I'm around there will always be a spare...
