Visited during 'Eat Out to Help Out'. Lovely little gem, staff super duper friendly staff ,so accommodating. Food is simply gorgeous, we've eaten at a quite few expensive Indian restaurants, I'd place the food here on a parr with those. They are not licenced so make sure you take your own. There's not really a car park, just parking on the front or near by, it's on the edge of a trading estate and given you'll more than likely be visiting at a time when the surrounding business will be shut then you shouldn't be obstructed premises although you should always read the parking notices and consider the needs of the business, obviously parking is at your own risk! FYI there's an Aldi which is open until 10pm about a 5 minute walk away should you forget your drinks! It is wheelchair/buggy accessible, however, it's 'cosy' inside so if visiting with either or similar I would most definitely book ahead to ensure you get the space needed. This place has little booths which make you feel cosy and intimate but you don't feel cut off n isolated, beautiful use of lighting and comfy seating too ;-). They also offer take out, would I recommend/revisit....most definitely. Thank you Tiffins for a...
Read moreThe positives. The service was excellent, waiters were friendly and attentive. Food arrived in a reasonable time. Great fresh poppadoms and one of the best naans I've had (chilly garlic cheese), price was reasonable £20 per head (starters, soft drinks and a few coffees.) The negatives. My curry was supposed to be off the bone chicken in a tasty sauce but it was just a flat chicken steak that was black, I struggled to tell if it was salmon, the sauce it was in was pretty bland. The tandoori lamb chops were 80% bone and over cooked. The crispy duck starter was also burnt. The balti was too mild and the other friends didn't finish their curries either. If it wasn't for the good service it would be a 2 star rating. With so much competition in Lye I hope they can improve on the cooking...
Read moreNot a good place for nut allergy sufferers! The menu highlighted with a symbol which meals had nuts in, so I chose one without, only to discover after a few mouthfuls and after asking the staff that there were actually ground nuts in the sauce! There was no mention of it at all on the menu. Thankfully my allergy isn't severe enough to require an epipen, but for someone else it could have been very dangerous.
Then, to top it all off, they tried to charge us for the meal I'd only had about 3 mouthfuls of! Really cheeky behaviour in my opinion. I will not be going there again and I certainly won't recommend anybody else...
