Extensive menu my only gripe is that all of their vegie & vegan burgers patties are the same 'beyond meat' type which is great if you like the taste and texture of a meat burger but I know many vegetarians that don't and there are so many alternatives available, seems like a missed opportunity,

Only one of their two drinks machines was working and that one was clearly out of C02 as all of the drinks were flat.

There was a mix up with our order (we ended up with an extra burger on our order, if I had ordered through their app then i guess this wouldn't have happened but one of our orders required the removal of some of the toppings so it is easier to speak to someone to get that right as many online ordering setups don't allow for this kind of customisation). I probably should have noticed at the time i paid (you have to pay up front) but i had braced myself for a large subtotal for a party of 4 so the additional £10.50 was lost on me in a haze of 'wow that's expensive'.

The confusion of the additional burger arriving was initially met with a bit of confrontation from the server which i was a little surprised by, it was eventually resolved though and the extra burger was refunded before we left.

The food was a little on the cold side but very nice, disappointed by the flat drinks though, it was brought to the attention of staff when our food arrived and was told they would look into it but by the time we left (and we had refilled our drinks after we had eaten) it was still serving flat drinks, got the impression they didn't have the ability to recharge the CO2 which, to my mind, they should have turned it off and offered their bottled drinks as an alternative.

I also think that there should have been an offer to refund the drinks from our bill or provide fizzy bottled drinks as a replacement.

In the end the bill was around £68 for 4 burgers (3 of them doubles), 4 regular fries and as much flat drinks as we could handle.

Can't say it was great value but we will probably be back as the food is good and you can't expect perfect service every time. If the drinks are flat next time though i will be asking...

First time visiting the Dunfermline branch. Just before going to see a movie at the cinema. Place was clean and tidy as was the toilets, but no toilet roll in the stall. The restaurant wasn't busy and we got seated straight away. The server was polite and very professional. She informed us how to order and that both of the self service machines were broken. We were told only bottles were available. £2.95 for a 500ml bottle of coke zero, which I'd just purchased the exact same from a petrol station an hour prior for £1.50 is unacceptable. No glass was offered, no ice etc. With a machine, I can understand the price, with costs of electricity, glasses, ice, cleaning and maintenance. But for a bottle without any of the extras, charging almost £3 is purely profit driven taken to the next level. Don't be that kind of company Smash Burger. Now your food came and both of us enjoyed our burgers. My wife loved her chicken burger and commented it was way better than KFC. But the downfall was the fries. As delicious as they were, they were cold. I presume from sitting in the basket until the burgers were cooked. Almost £5 for a portion of fries is steep but forgivable if enjoyable, but almost £5 for cold fries is a joke. If the self service juice machine was working, would I moan at paying £3.75 for unlimited drinks?? If the fries came out hot would I moan for paying almost £5 for fries ?? The answer is no. Because everything else was great. But overinflated prices of bottled juice and cold fries let you down. Sadly I'm going to stick to 5 guys. Usually I love this place, food is always amazing.

Usually we only take away but decided to sit in for a change and I will tell you I will not be doing it again.

Both mine and my partners orders were wrong. When we informed the staff of them being incorrect, we were very rudely told that it was our fault and not theirs. Our fries were cold staff were also informed of this. (We sadly did not think to grab the names of the staff) the young lady who took our fries away was lovely throughout our whole experience very kind and apologetic.(unlike her rude coworkers) the other two were visibly annoyed and did not hide it by repeatedly giving me and my partner nasty looks and glaring at us while we ate. Rude comments and physical gestures made by an employee to other staff members were made repeatedly by the same girl (bigger, glasses, red hair, and claw clip) she was then repeatedly sitting on her mobile phone throughout our stay. Personally I don’t think this is a good look for the company or any company for that matter.

Apart from the two rude staff members when our order was brought out to us corrected it was amazing. Definitely recommend this place for their food but do suggest staff are reminded that they represent the company and their actions reflect badly on all of the staff as an overall look which is not fair on some of the lovely and hardworking staff who actually like the public...
