So happy to have finally found a truly lovely restaurant in my area that's worthy of recommendation, Mangiare is definitely that and more. Our food was beautiful, we had a lunch special consisting of a starter and a main with cocktails, salad to share, coffees and the desert and everything was truly delicious. My arancini with mushrooms smothered in a beautiful homemade tomato sauce with slivers of parmigiano had a light and crispy exterior and wonderfully fluffy inside, followed by a hand stretched pizza vegetariana with delicate peppers, capers, olives and asparagus it was a pure delight, my partner had his with pepperoni, mozzarella and tomatoes and he loved it. We washed it down with Aperol-Spritz cocktails which were flavoursome and strong, followed by the espresso coffee at the end of the meal...did l mention that we shared a Cesar salad with beautifully cooked chicken tenders and fresh lettuce leaf? It was simple yet prepared with such attention to detail...l seriously KO'd after this but my partner decided to finish it off with caramel cheesecake and that was a worthy finale to this culinary revelation. Lovely food, extremely attentive and polite service. This place is really worth recommending for those who yearn for something with great Italian flavours made with love and attention, the restaurant itself is very spacious and extremely comfortable with a pleasing decor and comfortable seating. Lots to praise here and absolutely nothing to complain about. We had a lovely experience and it was worth every penny, go and experience it for yourself, you won't regret it! We are defending...

I ordered a Funghi pizza and an apple crumble.
The pizza base was a little dry, the ingredients fairly bland. No herbs, basil or parmesan and the sauce was unremarkable. The mozzarella was also not particularly impressive.
The crumble was decent. It supposedly had amaretto but I didn't really notice it. I personally like the apples a bit softer.
You're provided with salt and pepper grinders, good chilli oil (it's quite strong) and a good knife for your pizza.
The service was fine. No complaints. The venue was unremarkable.
Counterintuitively, this is likely the best pizza you can reliably get in Ely. The competition is just not very strong.
It's better than Pizza Express and a lot better than Wildwoods. Gino's Pizza in Ely's market square is better, but it's only there a couple of days per week.
You'll find much better options...
Read moreWe recently had a small family meal to celebrate our son’s 14th Birthday. It was his choice to return to this lovely restaurant. A very warm welcome by Anna on reception duties. The restaurant was soon full, and on a Monday evening. Charlotte, our waitress, proved to be a wonderful team member - great interpersonal and communication skills, excellent knowledge of the menu, efficient service and very responsive to our birthday celebration requests. Everything served up with a big smile. The food was delicious - the authentic dishes more than lived up to our expectations - so much choice. A great range of drinks available. The presentation to our son of a candle-topped tiramisu, with loud waiter chorus, made our son’s celebrations very special. Many thanks to all involved. We are now planning...
