I genuinely think they have thought of everything! One-stop, all-weather, multi-generational, four-legged friends…
First time visit and all three generations in our party (plus dog) felt right at home in the Yard. It’s a lovely modern venue, very welcoming, also designed with real flair so as to maximise on indoor and outdoor seating, covered and open. We loved the relaxed, convivial atmosphere and also appreciated the proximity of the ample car park at the back.
Initial plan was to meet up for coffee and check out this new place we’d heard so much about. Coffee was of course great but we knew it would be, having visited the Silver Oak rig on market square many times before!
As we lucked out with lovely sunshine, ours evolved into more than a flying visit, so easily done in a place as versatile as this. Ordering food at the stalls was straightforward and, despite the Yard being quite busy (lovely buzz), the waiting times were surprisingly short and we thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered: burgers, nachos with pulled pork, goujie chick and silver bao. We are not big on dessert, also were quite full after the impromptu lunch, but did manage to share some churros (happy to confirm they were delightfully crisp with beautiful fresh fruit). Drinks-wise, with our meal, the adults switched to wine... We tried both the house white and red, and both hit the spot nicely. Our teenage daughter absolutely loved her biscoff milkshake. One regret is we didn’t try those scrumptious-looking cocktails... Massively look forward to those on our...
Read moreBeen a few times to the main area and little beans area. Always been amazing!! Food, snacks, hot drinks and alcoholic drink variety is great and a lovely atmosphere. Little beans area is brilliant, lovely little soft play with chairs and tables and baby change with toilet. The fact its also free to use for customers is brilliant. More places need these little set ups!
The only reason for the stars was particularly for a one off occasion (have no complaints outside of this, so appreciate this isnt a regular issue) Went in Little Beans with our 1 yr old, and the rules are 4 yrs and under and supervised by an adult (amongst some other rules) as time went on more children came in, however very clearly not 4 or under by a long shot. Started playing together quite rough with the soft play cubes throwing them across the play area and play fighting with each other. I am all for kids having fun, but when you have my and 2 other very little ones having fun it is quite frustrating. There is very little in Ely for little ones to be able to roam and play that is fun and safe for them indoors. We would of spoken to their parents politely to ask if they are going to be in here to just be mindful of the little ones, but they werent even in there with their parents. We were leaving soon after anyway so didnt have time to speak to a member of staff, but just a little dissapointed on...
Read moreI booked for 13 people to celebrate the 1st Anniversary of my business, Fight Klub. I found Andi very helpful and responsive in catering for our dietary requirements which included vegan and gluten free and the booking process was stress free.
On the day, our table was clearly marked and the table where our food selection was to be set was also right next to us and easy to access. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the food came out right on time. The vegan and gluten free options were kept separate from the other food options and everything was fresh.
I thought the buffet selection was excellent value, there lots of choice and lots of food and we were allowed to take our time over eating - at no point did we feel rushed. We were given cardboard boxes (big tick) to take the left overs away with us - so no wastage.
Despite The Yard being very busy with other customers, our group was well looked after and everyone enjoyed the afternoon.
I would have no hesitation in recommending The Yard for large (and small) group bookings and look forward to going back there again.
The food is delicious and reasonably priced, as were the drinks. All in all, great value and a fun...
