Bay View Craft Shop — Restaurant in East Devon

Stopped in for a light lunch during a quick visit to the quaint village of Beer.

As the name suggests the café is above the sea front overlooking the bay. The café is within a gift shop. I don’t offer award 5 stars but will on this occasion as there was nothing to fault.

Food was nicely presented and well priced, the staff were all polite and efficient.

There’s no toilet within the café but the public toilets are only two doors away and they were clean...

We went here for Breakfast on my Birthday. A fabulous little cafe with a real homely feeling and staff who show that they take an interest. All of the food was plentiful and fresh with no complaints. I had to ask for a plate as I was struggling to eat poached egg on toast from a dish, but this was provided swiftly and without question. Disappointed on our return visit. Travelled from Hereford to Beer specifically for their crab sandwich. We sat for a time to work out the rest of the order to be finally told "no crab". Wish they told us that on arrival. Service also very slow, and it would have been nice to know this prior to being seated. Nice location, a little uninspired, staff pleasant. Won't make the effort though next time. Scones...
