This is going to be a bad review of our experience last evening. I would add that we have used Safar many times since they opened and we have not had a problem. However, last evening was different. We decided to have a take away delivered and chose Safar. Went online and made our choices. Decided to pay on delivery. The app told us delivery would be at 6.10pm. We waited in eager anticipation. At 6.15pm we received a text asking if we had received our order and if not to ring the telephone number on the message. This I did and was informed a delivery driver had called in sick. Apologised and said it could not be helped. However he had just left and we would receive our order by 6.50pm. At 7pm still no order. I rang again now very annoyed to be told unfortunately the driver was busy and to bear with them for a further 20-30mins. I said this was totally unacceptable and to cancel our order. We would not be ordering from them again. Our evening meal plans had been ruined and we were very disappointed. About an hour later I received a call from a manager apologising for the delay. Said we could have our meal for free and they would still deliver it. Time was now 8pm! I said we had already eaten and had beans on toast. He thought this very amusing. A total lack of understanding it seemed. He did add we could have a courtesy meal at another time. Not the point at all. Needless to say our business will now go to someone else. Read moreOrdered online with the voucher we received but no discount given,when rang and asked why they said it could only be used for 1 day but no date when or how long it was valid for ,so was told there mistake and would put on voucher s in future but we couldn't have a discount quite rudely,the phone was then taken off her by a very rude man who said get off the phone!! We then cancelled order and they said they would refund but still sent food which we refused as we were getting a refund, we then spoke to another woman employee who said she was very sorry for how we were spoken too and that she was going to do refund as it hadn't been done ,so put phone down to speak to other staff but not on mute to hear them slagging us off and moaning!!she came back on the phone and was very rude and refused our refund !! Saying we now had to have the food or lose our money even though it had been cancelled earlier, disgusting customer service for regular costumers , will be going back to cinnamons where cheaper ,nicer and customer...
Read moreFood has been really good, but delivery times are always at least double what they state, was told 40 minutes on website when ordering today, while writing this it's already been 1 hour 25minutes and still none the wiser as to arrival time, just told it was ready 25 mins ago, and they're waiting on a driver 🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️ I wouldn't mind if only they were more open re ACTUAL delivery times, just super annoying! Plus, I'm really hoping I don't get cold food delivered!!!! Sorry to the poor delivery driver who won't be getting a tip, NOT his fault at all, but seriously, restaurant, update/be honest re delivery times and you won't annoy people! Don't entice them to order and pay good money and then make them wait WAY over double the time you advertised for delivery!
