The Coffee Bank — Restaurant in East Devon

Came here for a drink and a play with our 12-month-old. Great smoothie and mocha. Before I say anything else, will definitely be coming back again, but there were a couple things that were a bit of a let down.

No outside food or drink allowed. Even for little children/babies. We wanted to give our daughter some cucumber and tomatoes which we brought with us, but were told it wasn't allowed and had to buy food. Well from what I could see on offer, it was only really crisps, marshmallows etc., which of course we wouldn't give to our daughter, so she had to go without any snack while we were there.

Oh and also, honestly did seem a bit rules-y. The whole cafe was decorated with the rules, so it just kinda felt like we were being watched the whole time for any rule-breaking. It doesn't need to be plastered everywhere to know to have the decency to tidy up after our child and to be careful with...

The Coffee Bank is such a nice place to go for a coffee and a bite to eat. Their toasties are delicious! Prices are very reasonable and the establishment is very clean. The team are accommodating and when I wasn't sure if there would be space for me and my friend and her daughter, they reserved a table for us.

My favourite aspect of The Coffee Bank is the 'pay it forward' board, whereby you buy a cappuccino, or a meal (or whatever you want) and they add the receipt to the board, so someone in need is able to pick something from the board and enjoy a 'free' drink/meal. I love this concept!

I will definitely be returning, and will be recommending it...

Lovely coffee shop, we always come here with the kids when we visit ottery! They have great range of food and cakes. Great play area for the kids. Also the decor is lovely, friendly and welcoming. Staff are always positive and smiling. There is a great upbeat vibe, and it feel this place has a great positive impact on the whole town. I was particularly impressed by their pay - it - forward initiative for those who may have fallen on hard times. You can buy food / or drink as a token that is posted on the wall so that this can be given to others. And this is all done with no judgement and no questions asked. Keep up the...
