Cibo — Restaurant in East Hertfordshire

I don't tend to write negative reviews however, was left a little taken back by the service received by the restaurant. We attended as a group of 4 and were served by a young waitress who took our orders, repeating it in Italian as we pointed to what we wanted on the menu (all in Italian and none of us were going to try and attempt to pronounce it). The starters arrived and one of the starters had been completely forgotten and we were told and tried to be convinced, that another dish that had arrived with our starters, some spinach side dish from what I gathered, was in fact what we'd ordered. Again, we pointed to the menu of exactly what we wanted and therefore to be told otherwise was slightly insulting and left one of our table eating on his own. We then received the main courses which once again, the pizza ordered was incorrect for my vegetarian partner who received a pizza covered in anchovies. Once again, we explained this was not what we ordered and we waited with our food going cold whilst the pizza was cooked. The bill arrived and there was no offer of any good will gesture based on the mistakes made throughout the evening by the waitress and therefore, I did ask to speak with the manager. Was very surprised to have implied that this was in fact our fault that the food was incorrect as the 'names do sound similar' and that 'you did eat the food'. Yes, we did when it eventually arrived correctly but that didn't take away from the disappointment of having to each at staggered intervals. After the manageress arguing with us that she didn't think that we deserved a good will gesture for our service at the restaurant, we agreed to pay for the full bill reluctantly when she then agreed to remove one dish however, she explained that she did already remove the side dish, nice of her as this is one that we hadn't ordered in the first place. All in all, we will not be returning and have been left very disappointed and its a shame that with a little bit of swallowing their pride for customers that haven't received the best service, it would have saved them this review being...

Well, where do I start?? Looking forward to celebrating a friend's birthday for dinner and couldn't be more if a disappointment if it tried, may as well ambled up the road to Prezzo where you can't go wrong! First of all, one of the cocktails tasted of washing up liquid and the Bellini's had a faint taste of peach to them. Then the waiter knocks our drinks over, no probs that's fine until we accidently knock over a glass of red wine near the wall which considering the decor on the wall blends in rather well , the waiter or owner??? Whichever comes over and is very abrupt over how much it cost him to redecorate Then we have starters put down on our table which are not ours do then are taken away to the next table. After that we get our main course, one of which is wrong , it gets taken back corrected, all good , but then one if the mains doesn't taste quite right, not the seafood, maybe the cream. The waitress notices something isn't quite right so takes it back, before you know it, the waiter or owner with the glasses is back with the incriminated main course in his hand and asks what's the problem? So my friend explains politely to which he got very argumentative and then another friend had to step in and ask him to step away as he started to be abusive. Nothing was done to try and replace the dish and it was still added to the bill. Having worked in the hospitality business and a 2 others on our table , we would never have reacted like that in front of a customer. So from now on it's back to Prezzo thank you...

Amazing Sicilian Dining Experience!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at CIBO, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment we walked in, the warm and welcoming staff made us feel right at home. Their kindness and care was truly exceptional, going above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and well taken care of.

The food was absolutely incredible. Every dish was bursting with fresh, authentic flavors, and you could tell the ingredients were top quality. From the perfectly cooked pasta to the savory sauces, everything was seasoned to perfection. The Sicilian specialties on the menu really stood out, making the entire meal a true culinary delight.

The atmosphere was equally impressive. The cozy, inviting ambiance made it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a meal. The restaurant had a lively yet intimate vibe, and we felt completely at ease throughout our visit. To top it off, the staff was so accommodating, catering to all our needs without hesitation.

If you're looking for an authentic taste of Sicily with impeccable service and a wonderful atmosphere, CIBO is the place to be. Highly recommended!
